Switching
I have never switched before and have just done price comparisons with energy helpline and simply switch. They both recommend london Energy. Although they both show the same estimated savings, they both quote different prices, as does the London Energy website itself. Which can I rely on?

Gas AGA cooker - Also heats water - how to reduce running cost?
When we moved into our house it had a gas fired AGA installed . The Aga is running 24 hours a day 7 days a week . It keeps the Kitchen very cosy in the Winter but unbearably hot in the summer. It also produces all the hot water for the house. Does any one else have experience of a similar setup . Our gas bills are at least…

Which is the best way to keep my bills down
Is it better to keep my heating on a low setting all day long, or to have it on timer for when I am in the house? At the moment my heating is on (high settng) from 7pm to 11pm and thats it. I wondered whether it would be more costs effective (and would keep my cats toasty!) to have it on low all day and turn it off before…

Switching supplier
I would like to switch energy supplier as the best advice seems to be that if you have not switched before you can make significant savings. I have not switched before so now seems like a good time. I pay a fixed amount to my current supplier each month by direct debit. I put this amount into several comparison websites…

This would be best put to a builder I guess, I am not sure of any implacations. I am taking all steps possible to rid my house of heat loss. I have so far Had cavity wall (Fibre Isulation) which worked great. Layed new loft insulation then borded onto. The next step I was considering, was putting a product called Kingspan…

Hi I've just been in touch with Powergen to get a quote using "staywarm".Guess what as 1 person with two bedrooms living in North Wales I was quoted £687 per year. That's £171.15 per quarter. What with the council tax and water rates that's over half my pension gone!!!I'd rather freeze than have to pay that much to stay…

Meter does not work during the day
We moved in to our current house in November 2003. We have been on British Gas since then. However, the meter reading for the electricity during the day has not gone up at all. This means that we have not paid anything for electricity for daytime use. It does still record our nighttime usage and currently we pay about £11…
