Is the purpose of a CCA request to reduce your monthly repayments?
Say you send out your requests and receive no CCA within 12+2 days. Should you then send out a letter offering to make a token monthly payment? Such as £1/month for the next 12 months. Or am i day dreaming? I dont understand the purpose of asking for a CCA and not receiving one. Do you just ignore the debt forever? I owe…

Student loans are threatening CCJ - help please
Purely as a product of my own stupidity I have ignored Student Loans for the last three years; filed their letters in the bin and generally buried my head in the sand. I did also have other debt issues (serveral defaults, one CCJ for a credit card) but dealt with it all two years ago, making full and final settlements and…

How low would you go?
I had an interesting phone call today from my credit card asking me to make them a final offer on a balance of £12,000. I haven't got much money and I am only paying a £1 a month at the moment, but wondered how much they would be willing to write off. They seemed a bit desparate. The most I could realistically scrap…
