We've Been Robbed

So here I am. 31 year old bloke trying my best, my very very best to reduce my debts whislt providing a good life for me and my family. And so far since my LBM (30/12/08) things are going good.
I woke this morning, in a cheerie mood, looking forward tothe aproaching weekend and my more imminent No Spend Day (NSD) and the delicious left over Sweet Potato & Chorizo Soup for lunch when....
....I left the house to find a Next Carrier bag in the middle of my front garden. I took a look and inside was childrens clothes, my little girls clothes, brand new with tags on (I though these were in the car ready to return to Next for the right size I though....
....I looked up and saw the car door...ajar....
....I looked in the car and saw the glovebox open....
....I looked in the glovebox to see that my TomTom had gone....
We've Been Robbed
Here I am, a 31 year old bloke, working hard to provide for my family, working hard to reduce debts, and doing right for society and the folk I meet, and at that moment, I just lost the will and honestly could have cried.
It happened a year ago too, but that time the glass was broken and the TomTom stolen. This time, my wife (not blaming her at all by the way) had left the car unlocked.
It's a no win situation I guess. Locked car or not, if they want to get in, they will.
What Next....
Well, after almost 3 weeks of almost NSD's (spent just 65p in 3 weeks) I've quit for today and I'm now enjoying a 90p americano.
Morale of the story - There isn't one. Sometimes life sucks. Most of the time it's okay though.

Sorry to hear that you've had your car broken in to, it's horrible when that happens.
Have you notified the insurers and what have they said??
Enjoy your coffee.

God, I'm so sorry to hear that. There are some real scum in this world who care not a jot about other people or the lives that we work hard to build for ourselves and those we care most about. The only positive thing I can say is that at least no one was hurt.
What utter barstewards though.
You deserve your Americano. I would have bought a bun with it too - heavy on the jam!Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -
Onward and upward P & C - Sorry about your troubles but there is always a
'could have been worse' Nobody died, no glass got broken,
You sound like a pretty positive person. At least you still have your little ones clothes (albeit too small)
And by the way, i'm not unsympathetic, i have been there, done that.
Radio gone, Jack gone, the B....ds even took my interior light bulb, can you believe that.
Good luckmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

They may not be very happy about the Tom Tom being kept in the glovebox after having one stolen from there the year before0 -
So sorry to hear that P&C - you've been doing brilliantly though recently so don't let this grind you down.
Hope you can get it sorted out on the insurance xx0 -
At least you don't have a few hundred pounds worth of damage xx
It's so frustrating having your car broken into. I had all my work tools stolen, I just sat on the floor and cried.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

Sorry to hear about your breakin must be upsetting... but like someone else said if its happened before maybe leaving new clothes in a bag and the tomtom in the car was just an invite for the same thieving scum to rob you again, everytime you get out of the car assume the worst and don't leave anything in it...#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

so sorry to hear youve been robbed!!
so positive thinking; they didnt take the clothes so can still exchange (not dirty or wet i presume?!), they didnt break any glass so no need to fork out for a new window, they werent in the house which i always think is worse......
enjoy your coffee, think you deserve it (i too would of bought a cake and thought the hell with it!!)
i had my stereo stolen when i worked in blackpool, the sods smashed the front passenger side window and crowbarred it out. I got to the car and found a couple of lads looking through my cd collection!!!!!!!! best bit...........the stereo didnt work and was going that afternoon to get it fixed!!!!serves them right, didnt find it funny driving the hour home on the motor way with no window and no stereo to drown out the noise...............
December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

Sorry to hear about this. Don't feel guilty at all for having a drink. I would have got a nice pastry (or a greasy breakfast!!) to cheer me up.
At least they didn't get into your house. A friend of a friend told me that someone they knew got broken into a couple of days before christmas when their husband was working away. They took ALL of the kids xmas toys and even took the teddy that was in the bed with her which really scared her. I can't imagine how bad that is.
At the end of the day, the positives are that if you look on MSE hard enough you will be able to find a cheaper satnav somewhere if your insurance doesn't cover it! Buy your wife a bar of chocolate to cheer her up, as if she left the door open, she will probably be feeling guilty (not sure, but thats how I would feel) and let her know that you aren't angry at her or anything.
Hope things get better. Something always seems to go wrong when you are trying your hardest to do anything. Don't let it stop you getting DF.
Good luck with the insurance guys
