BCW & Aktiv Kapital

Hello, any help would be appreciated.

This morning BCW (or someone claiming to be from BCW) rang me trying to claim that they were acting on behalf of Aktiv Capital requarding a debt.

They asked me to confirm my details which I refused as I never heard from them, to which they replied that they had sent me numerous letters. I stated that I have never received any correspondance from them. Their reply and I quote was for me to 'get a new postmen'. They asked again for me to confirm my details to which I refused. They then said that I would be hearing from the collectors & slamed the phone down.

As far as I am aware I dont owe anyone anything, I have never heard of BCW or Aktiv Kapital until today (I have now googled them) and I have never received letters from either of them. I also have no idea of what debt if any it could be!

Does anyone have any advice?, is this just them chancing their luck?, have they tried this with anyone else? what should I do/be doing?

Any Help greatly received.

Not untypical BCW/AK tactics, just they are not used to dealing with people who know their rights and do not give out personal data over the phone.

The "we have sent you letters" is a standard tactic - as is dating any letters a couple of weeks before they are sent so the OP has only a day or two to respond. One DCa explained that letters had been sent by the original creditor - many years previously, to which the OP had not responded. True, but the debt was not the Op's anyway.

    |IF BCW/AK are involved this will be a very old debt that is probably statute barred, or missing the legal documentation to support it, and therefore unenforceable. Come back when you know more.
