But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free;)
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D
Today i will:
- check online banking -
- update spreadsheets
- move some money to savings
- storecupboard tea
- laundry hokey cokey for OH
- ironing for me
- reduce, reuse,recycle one thing
- swim and jacuzzi to use gym membership
- aim for no spend day
- clean one room so no housework at weekend
- sparkle a lot
- purple cow socks under my work clothes
,hopefully will be a quiet day today at work, not much planned so far. Need to clear a few things away so decorators cn get on with painting etc but part from that not much on.Hi to all the regulars, Yorkshire Belle - hope you hve found your energy today:D , hugs to anyone feeling poorly or down , and welcome to any new posters .
Hope you all have a lovely day.
See you later xx

Morning all

Haven't been around for a bit but I notice that everyone is still sparkly... which can only be a good thing.
My workload has doubled and along with taking on more responsibilities, I'm also going to night school as well. But plenty of time working means not much time for spending (also means not much time to post on here though!)
The listy for today:
* Checked interweb banking. Woo payday.
* Rounded down all the odd pounds and pennies into my virtual sealed pot.
* Swept the remaining money from last month's pay (not much!) into a different savings account.
* Checked all the savings accounts to make sure there's no problems with the direct debits for tomorrow.
* Cleared out my purse of all the silver and copper for my tangible sealed pot.
* Checked Quidco (although I haven't been spending, so what I think I'm going to get paid from it this month I don't know!)
* Brought mp3 player to charge at work.
* Brought laptop to work... need it but it'll also get fully charged.
* Storecupboard dindins. Sandwich... loadsa fruit. I will be 9 stone something come the summer!
* Do revision for my course.
* Storecupboard tea (Asda fish pies! I love them more than I should)
* Drink tea and coffee courtesy of work. Water from the water cooler.
* Few surveys... decided that any earnings from them will be going towards "bottom drawer" stuff. I'm waiting on an M&S voucher from Valued Opinions so I can get some spotty cups I've seen
Erm... think that's it for today.
Have fun everyone!0 -
Morning everyone
Haven't posted for a while - sorry!
Anyway, things today:
Transferred £223.50 into my virtual sealed pot, taking me less than £50 from my revised revised revised target. Might re-revise! This is all to pay off my loan early. £150 from my O2 refund, £23.50 from PT job, £50 from Ebay.
Daily scratchcards - 10p and (FINALLY) 20p - have been having 10ps every day for ages.
Check for freebies and offers
Try and have a NSD - still got 7 to go this month to reach target, eek.
Have lovely days everyone xx0 -

I accomplished a couple of things on my list from yesterday, think with having the DDs with me with it being half-term, I overestimated how much I could get done. Ah well, we live and learn...
Today I will:- phone up council about getting a standing order form for my Council Tax repayments
- take girls to playgroup this afternoon - go to a couple, the first one of the week I have to pay towards but this one today is free
- check online banking
:
- post ebay items that I sold the other day on ebay, have envelopes all ready
- make HM biscuits or soup to use up spare veggies
- have a baby - think this one may be a little further out of my control though!
