Moron moment ;)
Well peeps I am actually embarrased posting this: Went at lunchtime to close my Barclays account. It had 350 remaining to be paid off. So I took my card from A&L and took £300 out of the machine. Went in and asked if they could sent me a statement for the balance. I was told that it wasn't possible because an account needs…

Complete and utter despair!!!!
I am on a real downer today. Story in short (!) OH made redundant in april 05 and was out of work for twelve months. I was sacked (no other word for it) whilst I was on maternity leave. We both got jobs but the stress of managing our debt (about £20k) was hard. We had just got back on our feet when OH was given an…

Hi all Martin's recently done an interview with a magazine and they've decided to expand on it and are looking for someone who's been in debt but used Martin's advice and the site to get it under control and who'd be willing to do an interview over the telephone. If you'd be happy to do it could you send me a pm with your…

What do you give that doesn't cost a bean?
I was just thinking about the fact that we're all so strapped for cash and can't be as monetarily generous with our friends and family as we'd like to be, but we all know that 'the best things in life are free', so I wondered what people on the board do for others, in terms of giving time, favours, help etc? I've just…

Crispy crispy snip snip! And a big thank-you
I had to share this with you all -yesterday I paid off the remaining £400 off my Capital One credit card that I’ve had for over six years. In the grand scheme of things it isn’t a lot in my overall debt, but it means I’ve broken the cycle on it: paying £20/£30 per month and then re-spending on it. Today in true MSE-style,…
