CCCS/Pay plan etc etc..

Hi everyone, how do these people work i've had a look at there websites but am scared to go through anything. How does it affect you? can you loose your home? do they take you to court etc etc. I think I was niaeve(sp) to think we could continue paying everything and still have money to live on. It isn't working out like that.

I'm scared off loosing everything my home etc, I have two small kiddies and I don't want to end up on the streets. the only things we can't pay is all the outstanding debt, we can afford mortgage and all household.

I'm so tired of constantly struggling with everything and now it's time to get our heads out of the sand.

What do i do next

You won't lose your home providing you can keep up the payments on your mortgage. Not sure about CCCS but Payplan need at least £100 for A debt management plan. Best thing is to post your SOA on here and see what people can suggest. Or phone CCCS or Payplan and speak to them, there won't force you to do anything you don't want to, its more advise and help than anything else.

payplan need at least £100? that's the first i've heard of this!
  • I wholeheartedly agree with HHH :D

I'm in a similar position to you zippee, able to afford mortgage and usual household things, but not the full amount of the repayments on unsecured loans and credit cards, and I too spent a long time worrying about losing the house and what would happen to me and my daughter etc...

Payplan were wonderful with me, very sympathetic to my situation, and told me straight away that they could help, which is such a huge weight lifted... I really can't recommend them highly enough - pleeeeease speak to one of them if things are getting on top of you!

Can anyone help with experience of the CCCS and such like?
  • Hi zippee & welcome. I am with CCCS, in a similar situation to you. I did it all on-line, I recommend you go through the initial process on their website, this doesnt commit you to anything.

You fill in all your details and they email you an advice booklet. You can read this & then decide whether to go with them or not.

I took the option of a debt management plan. I pay my own priority debts (mortgage, council tax etc) and have a reasonable allowance for living expenses. The rest gets paid to them and they share it out amongst my creditors. They do not charge anything, but you make your payment on the 1st of the month & your creditors get it around the 25th.

I have had some phone calls from creditors, letters etc, but nothing too bad & I feel that things are under control now.

    Hope this helps!

Yes, they have a minimum requirement of £100 per month being available across all your creditors.

CCCS require £5 per month per creditor as a minimum, which is usually less.

    CAB have no minimum.
  • Im with CCCS.I see a lot of the Payplan people have an interview.

I have done everything on line with CCCS,spoken to them once, and am ready to pay my first payment to them on Friday.I have had one default letter, but have written to that debtor telling what is going on.My other debtors have been very very quite,to quite in fact.

Quick question, i do a lot of overtime, this isnt guaranteed.I have spoken to CCCS on this, but they say they only take your basic pay into account as overtime cannot be guaranteed.

I know this as thats what I am having to find at the moment. Even though my outgoings exceed my incomings. I really need to declare bankruptcy but can't seem to be able to get the money together for the fees. Oh well it xmas soon maybe someone will buy my bankruptcy as a present.
