Looking through my bank statements!
I've just got back my statements in response to my SAR and I never thought I'd be so pleased to see so many bank charges! £4257.50 including bits that were refunded as "gestures of goodwill" The thing is, they didn't include evidence of manual interventions, should I write to them again?

My first true DFW food shopping visit
It's finally sinking in... my bill this morning came to £40-57- this is for a week's worth of shopping for 2 greedy adults. I know there are people on here who do an awful lot better than that but for me it's an excellent step forward- I used to spend £80-90 every week. We haven't missed out on anything this week and the…

When you are debt free, will you use credit cards again? If so, what for?
Hi All Been reading in some threads that it's advisable when debts are cleared to keep just one credit card for 'emergencies'. I just wondered if others had the same view and what other MSE'rs would classify as an 'emergency' ? Or do you intend cutting up all credit cards and never using them again ever? If so, how would…

A Word of Warning to Us All (long)
This is a long and dire warning of how not to bring up your kids. Today I went to visit a friend. She has three children and her kids have grown up alongside mine but they have been brought up very differently.
