Well. a couple of weeks ago I begunth process of getting ALL my statements from the Natwest for a refund on my charges. I became unemployed in October of last year and explained to the bank that until I had my baby (Iwas 3 months pregnant with no hope of getting another job) could they freeze my acount. I also moved house in January due to my husband being in the army.
I am working with Gregory Pennington ATM because it was the only option (my husband has debt from his previous marriage)
SO from January I have being paying in 17.50 a month because thats all we can afford.
First statement in ages came today from NATwest from 17 march charges up until now :
£348 plus interest
not to mention what they have pt on since Novemember and in the past six years!
then ALSO recieved a letter
FORMAL NOTICE OF INTENTION TO FILE A DEFAULT AND TO TRAKE ACTIO TO RECOVER DEBT
So I am no screaming my head off because the %$££%$£% have made the money up to what it is $%^$^£"
OMG I cant wait for them to send me the statments - they can take me to court I have £4000 of debt a young child and at least half of that debt is now from charges!!
Anyone any helpfull words???
Sam
ps I have just found the line in the letter
Your overdraft is repayable on demand by the bank and such demand will terminate the overdraft arrangement. The bank intends to demand payment of the total amount oustanding as set out below if neccessary by court action and accordingly termiate the overdraft arrangement on or after 15/09/06 unless by that date you have made an alternative arrangement for repayment which is acceptable by the bank.

Firstly
Open a basic bank account with someone else
Secondly get the hell away from gregory pennington, they are charging you money for your DMP. try CCCs/ Paypal at the top of the page
Good luck:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
DONT USE GP please please try CCCS or payplan, they are free and more likely to get a sympathetic hearing from your creditors.
Try the Co-OP for a basic account and then Natwest becomes another debt which can go in the DMP

hmm..
I went to GP because managing it between us was breaking our relationship, I couldnt sleep, I wasnt interested in my hubby, I was pregnant, I lost my job when my hubby was in Iraq, it is an offence in the military to have your money in a bad state of affairs
And finally
with 12 creditors and debts ranging from £100 to £4000 it works out that what we pay GP is less than 10 percent of what we were paying in charges and interest on 10 of the accounts where these have been frozen......................
Baby crying BRB to finish my post

What we are saying is that GP is a private company - they are making their money by charging you, whereas that money could be going towards reducing your debt. CCCS and PAYPLAN are registered charities and provide a service, free of charge, thereby releasing more money available to your creditors. Creditors are more likely to listen to CCCS/PAYPLAN.
Why not visit their website or call them, to see what they can do for you.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Ok other side of writing this post
(sorry to whine but I feel really !!!!!! off!!)
When I got together with Kev he had split up from his ex wife after finding out she was having an affair and asked him if her bf could move into the house they were buying three days before th sale - the mortgage fees etc went on the credit card
All of kevs debt is from his past marriage and funiture appliances hed bought for the house that he now has - fair enough his kids live there
But
we pay £250 a month for 3 kids in an out of court settlement. ... I'll continue this in a minute
I got a new job after moving again in July last year doing manual work (i didnt know I was pregnant till 9 weeks later)
Kev gets posted to iraq 3 weeks later
I spent £1500 on driving lessons and tests and failed - my theory has now run out grr
At the end of October I got Sacked for unfair reasons which i wont post on here but yes they knew i was pregnant.
Someone Cut the fence in my backgarden and my two dogs escaped and got 'icked up by the dog warden costing me £180 to get them back
xmas - dont even go there!!!
Jan moved house everything setled down was working out
End of march 8 and a half months pregnant get a phone call from his ex can we pick two of the kids up she cant cope - kev feeling obliged as a father but not wanting to pressure me aggreed to one and we spent 4hrs travelling to pick one up and her stuff and 4hrs back.
Next day phone call that his ex tried to OD and is in hospital
Kid arrives with holes in shoes and thread bairn clothes and underware so we go to tesco and pick up some styff at the expense f my dad (thankyou daddy I love you)
beginning of april (due date 14th) have paid kevs ex the full amount of cs
thinks itlll be ok..............
Gets his kid into school etc doesnt have Any school clothing or bag or anything so go get some, then pay for school dinners
Then added expense out of the budget that was tight already when she want there of feeding etc school holidays.............
Due date comes and goes and on the 22nd we recieve the kids 40 child benefit from her mum as she was still claiming it
Go into hospital to be induced on the 28th husband stays as had some cotractions and babys heart beat unpredictable
stupid priced carpparking fees!
Then sat nght have an emergency c section and baby is born
added unbudgeted fuel - kev sent home
kev visits me for the 3 days i have to stay in hospital - more fuel and carparking
kev picks me up on the tues and we go home.
Kev then still pays ex 150 cs and she keeps the Child benefit and tax credits..........
same story for the month and truly skint by the 3rd week of the month so lower the GP payments to 350
Next month same again but two weeks into kid decides wants to go home so does
but ex asks for other 100 to be added for cb for that month!
kev gives her 60................
next month (august) pay 250 as normal think itll settle again
End of august get a phonecall from ex asking for another 100 for sept - i have an argument with kev over it and he gives her 50 and says hell send some more next month
then i get these letters from natwest!!!
I know kids arent cheap but isnt it meant to be 50/50 - kev gives 250 so she cotributes 250 and is out of working and claming tax credits and child benefit so approx another £220 a month - isnt £720 enough to feed clothe provide electric water and a roof over there head for three kids..............
AND TO TOP IT ALL MY DOG/PUP OF TWO YEARD rOXY GOT HIT BY A CAR LAST WEEK AND WE HAD TO HAVE HER PUT DOWN AS SHE HAD BROKEN HER SPINE - vets fees £300 - Cost to emotion IMMENSE
Rant Over
Sorry

Yes, they will deal directly with your creditors - just read a few of the threads on this forum and you will see how happy people are with their service. Ok well I want to BUT I really want to wait for christmas to be over and done with. Or start in December. As I have been doing my sums and we are trying to sell a blue celica to raise some cash, we still have another car. I want to use that for driving though so I can get a Job and get my Baby biy to nursery etc. and we can use the rest for christmas and my secret saving of £50 a month. I dont think any of the creditors will take any understanding of christmas. Its only 113 days away!
I want to do it but feel to scared that they wont accept anything and will say that we have too much money left over. Kevs car is last payment this month of £170 but I am using the free cash next month to pay my dad back, again I dont think creditors will understand. So I really cant do it this month! and with christmas I really dont think itd be wise to move out of the aggrements were in soo close to christmas -
I know four of the aggrements are upfor review in November so that might be the time to do it.
As for getting all the account details etc can I get them back from GP?
I dont have the authority to speak to my husbands creditors either and it takes me months on end to get him to do anything to deal with debt.
Well anyways I will speak to CCS on monday and see what info I get.

i Idint know wether to make a new post because I didnt know where to put it but so far tonight I have made and cooked our tea (chicken Curry) with two extra portions that are now in the freezer, and four portions of chicken cassarole. All stored in TUBBITS which I think are great - reusable microwavable and diswasher proof.
So off to get ahead on the mince for spaghetti bolognase and four portions of shephards pie to freeze.
Then to put the dishwasher on full (cheaper at night)
Tidy up
then do the babys bottles
and if I have time come and have a good look around here tooo see whats happening.
This can only every get better wether it be emotionally, financially or in personal achievements. We all still can love and can always come on here for a chat. So let your dreams prosper and let tomorrow be the beginning of not just another day but another day to make a difference.
