Barclaycard automated fraud prevention
I got a automated call from Barclaycard the other day just going through some of my recent transactions, fair enough. But they rang both my landline and my mobile. And all I had to put in to hear about my recent transactions was my date of birth?! Now the concern I have here is I'm living at home with my parents and sister…

New Credit Cards While Unemployed
I've just been refused a credit card from Bank of Scotland. I currently have a card with MBNA, their tie-in with Newcastle United has now ended and my new card which replaces the current one which expires at the end of this month is a plain, bog standard MBNA card. I originally got the MBNA card because of the link up with…

Overusing my card
Over the last few months I've got into the habit of putting most of my everyday expenses on my credit card and then paying it off in full at the end of the month. I am now begining to think about applying for a mortgage soon and was wondering if this type of thing would affect their decision? or is it completly fine.

Next best card after "starter" card for wife
My wife has a Capital One Visa which she has had for over a year. She has never missed a payment and has a clean credit record. She works part-time however and only has an income of just over £6k. The Capital One care charge over 30% interest. I've advised her to transfer her balance from it onto a card with a lower…

Next best credit card - thoughts please.
Hi, Just wondering what the next best credit card is. My first one was an HBOS One Card and when the 0% rate ended, I switched my balance to a credit card with Virgin (I cancelled my One card) and when that 0% rate ended, I switched to Barclaycard Platinum and did a balance transfer, which is the card I currently have. I…

I have just applied for a capital one progress card and Barcleycard Initial
Both applications have not come back with instant decisions, they have come back with "we need to make additional checks, we will be in touch within 5 days" Is that normaly a good thing or a bad thing? whenever I have applied for credit in the past and have been refused I have always had an instant decision.

AA Spend & Earn Prepay Card-Missing Points
I advise anyone with one of these cards to check that they have been credited with the correct Reward points for late April. Having complained I have just had my account corrected. However, as I was awarded no points for 4 transactions with 3 retailers over 2 days I cannot believe that it was a problem affecting only me.

Premier League Season Ticket
Hi all, I wish to renew my season ticket this season - but the issue is I currently don't have the money until around Christmas. I remember reading before that Barclay's offer 0% interest for 12 months on all season ticket purchases. Is that true? Will it be for new customers? And if not would it be possible to do it on my…

Any advice?
I have got myself into a bit of a mess. Halifax reduced my overdraft limit from 2,500 to 600 from one day to the next without notifying me. Since then my mortgage tried to collect and was obviously refused. My 0% interest barclaycard also tried to collect and was also refused. I usually hover around 0-500 pounds into my…

Reduce 4 credit cards to 1?
Hi I just wondered: I've transferred the balance owed on 3 credit cards (HSBC, Santander, Virgin) (not a whole lot: c£2,000 total) to one credit card (Lloyds TSB), so is there any reason for keeping 1 or more of the zero balance credit cards now or is it advisable to close these accounts? Thanks Bertie

I was thinking, would it be worthwhile when I pay off an amount to lower my credit limit? I.e would I…
