Next best credit card - thoughts please.

Hi,

Just wondering what the next best credit card is.

My first one was an HBOS One Card and when the 0% rate ended, I switched my balance to a credit card with Virgin (I cancelled my One card) and when that 0% rate ended, I switched to Barclaycard Platinum and did a balance transfer, which is the card I currently have.

I still have my Virgin card open, but with zero balance. I've had the Barclaycard Platinum since January this year and the 0% ends at the end of the year (it has 12 months BT and spending).

So, my question is what is the next best card for me as it stands at the moment? Though I am not thinking of switching until November/December time when the 0% ends.

Should I cancel my Virgin card now? Or wait until the 0% is finished on the Barclaycard Platinum and cancel that one instead?

I'd like to keep one 'open' until at least after I have my switch (and obviously my BT in place).

Thank in advance for any info.

Virgin frequently make existing customer offers. Do you use their online site? If so, even though you owe them nothing log in every now and again and see if you have any promotional rates. I currently have a 0% offer for spending and balance transfers on my virgin card. So I would definitely keep that open. It may be that come December you can switch you balance back to virgin and avoid completely another application.

Otherwise, the offers change regularly so I think you're best to wait until nearer the time and see what the cards are offering then.

Received a letter this week from Virgin offering me a years interest free balance transfer until next November, if I change before the end of this November. Sounds like a good deal to me! But is it?

Thank you, that was a good idea and I did as you suggestd and kept my Virgin card open. See post above for current offer!
