Next best card after "starter" card for wife

My wife has a Capital One Visa which she has had for over a year. She has never missed a payment and has a clean credit record. She works part-time however and only has an income of just over £6k.

The Capital One care charge over 30% interest. I've advised her to transfer her balance from it onto a card with a lower interest rate. Any ideas what would be the best card to apply for next?

Looking for decent balance transfer deal/rate and good purchase rate.

The bank that receives her (yours as well if its a joint account?) income should be the first port of call.

Alternatively, go for a card that asks only for household income, or allows you to add additional income such as yours. You may have to go through a few dummy applications online once you've assembled your shortlist to find out which ones ask for this.

I think the longest '0% on both' cards are around 12-13 months. Check out Halifax, Barclaycard, & NatWest.

Have to say though, that the Capital One card, at 30%+ APR, is meant to be used to build a credit rating...not build so much debt that you need to transfer it elsewhere for a cheaper rate after only a year! How much debt is she looking to shift?
