Virgin card minimum payment

My interest free period has just ended on a percentage of my virgin balance. I have received my new statement today and my interest is MORE than my minimm payment.
I don't spend on the card, it is my balance transer card. I have just transferred another balance onto it will this have caused the odd payment?
I thought now that the minimum payment was 1% and THEN the interest added onto it?
