Credit limit slashed after balance cleared
Just wondering if anyone has any experience of their credit limit being slashed after they've cleared a balance? As part of my shuffle routine, I zero the balances before transferring over and would like to know if anyone has had any experience recently of having their limit shut right down as soon as the balance is paid…

CC for a friend
A friend of mine who does not believe in CC's needs one as he is going on holiday and needs to hire a car and needs a CC. They have good jobs and no debts so any card application should be fine. They are looking for a good deal, so I have been looking at Quidco. They will be using the card on holiday, and paying it off in…

Be vigilant - Halifax X MC
I have a halifax X card, had it since December, and have a 0% rate for 15 months. Last month the statement said 'next months interest £58.50' (or whatever figure it was) I noticed that the intrest rate had a figure and was not 0%. I phoned them and I was told that my June payment was too early, yet this was my May…

Credit card woe
I've got myself into a bit of a pickle, potentially, and hopefully I can get some decent advice on what to do next. A few months ago I got My First Credit Card, which was a Halifax card with 15 months 0% on purchases. Not long after, I got a call from them to say I had missed a repayment (my first one!). It turned out that…

Hey I've signed up with Equifax for this 30 day free trial thing. Just got verified so I can login but can't find a way to view my credit report without paying money for something! There's just loads of products that I can "order now" but nothing where I can view my credit report for free! Any advice would be appreciated :)

BT or not?
Hi everyone, Just wondered weather it would be worth transfering my outstanding balance (see my signature) to a Abbey Zero card (which offers 0% Balance Transfer for 6 months with no fee!) I should be able to pay the balance off in full within these 6 months no probs. I have already cut up my capital one card with a…

Which Credit Card Offer Balance Transfer
The time has come again for me to switch credit cards and find a new blance transfer deal. I currently have and Egg, HSBC, Barclaycard and MBNA credit cards, and I wont touch Capital One! Does anyone know of another company with a long term balance transfer rate that would be able to serve my needs for the next 12 months?

Credit Card Cash Withdrawals
I don't really have much of a clue when it comes to credit cards so I'd appreciate a hand. I'm looking to purchase a car (approx £12k) and I figured a 0% purchase card would be a good way to finance it as long as I paid it off within the given 0% period. The problem arises when I see that cash withdrawals normally carry a…

Abbey Zero for stoozing?
My girlfriend will be applying for the Abbey Zero card to use for our spending abroad and to do a balance transfer. According to Abbey's website, it's 0% on purchases for 6 months so does this mean she can spend overseas and stooze money until end of 0% deal or does the 0% not apply to overseas spending? Hope you can help.

How long before re-applying?
Hi there, I am new to credit cards, and have been declined a card from Ulster about a month or so ago now. I've read the advice on cards extensively, and whilst it says that I should wait now until I try again with someone else, I'm not sure how long I should? Is there a good amount of time I can leave without having a…

Am I liable for this debt?
Not sure if this is the best place to put this query in, but here goes: Had an MBNA credit card. Paid off the balance in 2003. Moved house and instead of sending them a change of address notification, sent them a letter asking for the card to be cancelled. Cut up my card, haven't used the account since. Forgot all about…

Credit card cheque
I have a loan at 14.9% APR. My recent Barclaycard statement includes a balance transfer cheque at 6.9% LOB. The details state that they are unable to accept transfers from cards or loans within the Barclays group. Does this mean i can use the cheque to pay off my Co-Op loan or cant you balance transfer loans at all?
