Credit Card Cash Withdrawals

in Credit cards
I don't really have much of a clue when it comes to credit cards so I'd appreciate a hand.
I'm looking to purchase a car (approx £12k) and I figured a 0% purchase card would be a good way to finance it as long as I paid it off within the given 0% period.
The problem arises when I see that cash withdrawals normally carry a substantial charge, credit card cheques the same also.
Any ideas? Any cards that don't have a huge charge for cash withdrawals?
Cheers
Charlie.

A card with an SBT (Super Balance Transfer) facility will allow you to transfer funds direct to your Bank Account at Balance Transfer rates.
Only a few special cards have this facility, these include Egg, Egg Money, Post Office Card, and any card administered by MBNA (including the Virgin range of cards).
In addition MINT periodically issue Credit Card Cheques that can be paid into a Bank Account at Balance Transfer rates, however this is the least satisfactory option because the cheques cannot be requested and you never know when they are going to drop through your letterbox.0 -
Thanks, Nick.
I'll take a look at that.0 -
Would anyone have any other useful ideas on borrowing the cash?

Does the garage accept cards directly?
My g/f bought her car on CC (or rather mine) and it attracted a 2% premium.
She then BT'd to her card for 0%.
I got rewards points and then she paid my card off with her 0% (no fee).
If you get a 0% purchases card with a high enough limit the BT would not be needed for you.I beep for Robins - Beep Beep
