Egg money
I was wondering if I could use my Egg money card to pay a credit card bill as a payment rather than a balance transfer. There is an option of paying with a debit card on the other credit card's site. If it works I will also get the 1% cashback and an extra 50 days no interest. Thanks for your help.

Barclaycard Online Payment Con
When you pay online the system default is to pay off the minimum amount, I expected that. But I never expected the other options. Lets say your July statement was £1000. When you click through to pay the options are: 1: Minumum amount B]with £minimum displayed[/B 2: Current balance in full B]with £1500 displayed[/B 3:…

Credit card needed for car hire
Hi. This is my first time on these forums, so please be gentle with me! I have no debts and my wages are paid straight into a bog- standard current account and the remainder put in savings accounts. My transactions are either cash or debit card and I never go overdrawn. I want to hire a car in Ireland, but I've been told…

CC Interest
Hi! My CC has just been cancelled (without my knowledge). The interest charged is 'daily'. I can only afford to pay £80-£100 per month which is approximately £10-£30 more than the minimum payment at present. As the interest charge is daily, should I be paying my monthly payment in small daily amounts? I can transfer the…

I was wondering if there was any way possible of improving the credit situation I am in. I I had a CCJ back in 2002 which has been paid off. but still I have a rating of poor with a score of 636. I was told as long as I make small payments on time my credit score will improve, but I don't think this is happening. Any…

Is a car a retail purchase?
Hi There, I have never owned a credit card and thought it might be worth buying my new car on one (or as at least maxing it out). I was just worried the "0% on retail purchases" that is offered. It will be bought from a main dealer. I have the money to pay for the car but i thought leaving it in the bank for a year would…

Rejected for the GE credit card?
Has anyone else been rejected for the 0% 12 month deal? I've checked my credit reports and everything looks fine. The only thing I can think of is there is quite a bit of available credit on there but other than that no defaults or anything. My earnings are very healthy too. They will write and tell me but if anyone else…

Can you reclaim repayment cover back?
Recently my sister came to me with a GE card debt, Debenhams. She has incurred late fees which I know she can reclaim but can she also reclaim for the repayment protection she has been paying for all these years? She was never eligible for this cover(unemployed) anyway so I'm guessing she may have been missold on that…

Credit Refusal
Declined a lease vehicle because I have changed my credit cards too frequently! All to do with best deals etc. Saved loads of cash on all finances, but am told that unless I stick to what I have now for at least 2 or 3 years will always show as a bad credit risk. What to do? Any suggestions?

The cost of mistakes
I have a (business) Visa card with MBNA. Today I received a letter alleging non-payment of the last bill. As we pay by direct debit, and there is plenty of money in the account, I was concerned. I called them and spoke to a very helpful woman. She put me on hold for about five minutes, but had the courtesy to come back a…

Cloned credit card - how long to sort out?
My card was cloned and cancelled last Monday morning. I have not yet received a replacement, any new login details for their website, or a new cc pin. I also was just told when I reported it that someone would be in touch. I called on Monday to ask how much was the non-disputed balance so I could pay that off. I was told…

Problem debts and poor companies
I was going to put this in the section praising companies but as it's very relevant to debt and worked for me, i'll share it with the forum. About 6 years ago, through a mixture of stupidity, disability and immaturity, i ended up with a lot of debt. Loan & 5 credit cards. As, i already had Rheumatoid arthritis when i…
