Anyone else managed to apply for one of these online? I get halfway through the application then it tells my it has timed out for being for than five minutes. I wouldn't care but it takes each page ages to load!!

I had trouble with it, including getting all the way to the end, only to get an error message. All I can say is try again. sorry!0

Did you ever get to the end or did you give up?0

Last month, I applied for the Post Office card.
The secure part of the website doesn't work at all with my browser, so I made a telephone application. I would recommend this route. I was told my credit limit over the phone. When the resulting paperwork arrived by post, I completed the optional balance transfer request and sent everything back by return.
The whole process, application and balance transfer, was completed in just under 14 days. It doesn't get much better than that!People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -
Think I will have to do that but can't see a number on website to phone to apply.0

Found a number but apparently they are no longer taking phone applications. Lady on phone suggested trying again tonight when site might be less busy or getting an application pack from post office tomorrow.0

I applied a couple of months ago and remember it freezing right at the end of the the process - just kept saying processing for about 30 minutes. Keyed explorer in the end and seemed to work ok the 2nd time round, including telling me what the credit limit was.0

Well, I finally got it to go through but didn't get a decision -it just said we will be in touch within 5 days. So who knows what they will say!!0

Hello all, this is my first post (although I have been reading the forum for some time).
I applied online for a Post Office CC on 4th August. I didn't get an instant decision, so also got the "be in touch within 5 working days" message. I heard nothing until today when I got a letter (A4 sheet in A4 envelope which I thought was rather a waste of paper!) to say my application has been turned down.
I am surprised as I checked my credit report (Equifax) to ensure everything was in order before I applied: everything looks OK. I have only made 1 other credit application in the last 6 months (to take advantage of a "10% off your first purchase" store card offer) which was successful, and before that, last November, I got a NatWest card with 0% on purchases. I don't know if it is because I have about 3 cards with nil balances so therefore have credit available - I read this sometimes does not help the scoring on another thread. Or perhaps their scoring criteria is just more strict.
Anyway it's a shame because I wanted the 0% fees-free BT, and it's my first new BT card application since last year. But not to worry, I have been shuffling with existing cards, to save multiple tart applications, so I think I will probably shuffle again now, possibly to my Barclaycard offering 6.5% life of balance, if I can't do better elsewhere.
I would be interested to hear how successful others are with the Post Office CC.0 -
I applied a couple of weeks ago, and got a message saying 'we will write to you within 5 days'
Had to send passpost, statements etc off - and got those back a couple of days ago saying 'we are processing your application'.
Today I got a PIN through for a card - but no card yet (and no idea of cedit limit!)
Suprised I got accepted!! (But liit is prob summat like £500)

I applied 4/8/06 online, got the "we will be in touch in 5 days" message, received credit agreement in 4 days, Pin no 2 days ago card with £5100 limit & online pin no etc today. I have a spare £2200 available so I am going to ask for another BT if it is still fee free. Will keep you postedEvery day above ground is a good day.0
