in Credit cards
Hi,
I have a sainsburys credit card with a balacne of around £4,800, on a 5,9% for the life of the balance. I dont use the card as I know payments go to balance transfers on the lowest rate first. Hence, I now have around £2500 credit available. I have an Egg card with a large balance and I would like to transfer it elsewhere (some to my Nectar Amex, as per a previous post!), but it would be handy to be able to transfer to another card too.
I called Sainsburys and they said they had nothing more to offer, but the lady I spoke to suggested I speak to another department at another time. The department she referered to basically deals with customers complaining and likely to close their accounts. She said if I threatened to close my account, they may come up with something.
All interesting, but I just worry about them calling my bluff really and then having to close my account and move the balance elsewhere, which wouldnt help me at all!
Has anyone any advise?
Tanks,
Funky

This is relatively easy to deal with. I suggest you ring up, explain what you want, and if they do not agree, tell them that you will consider closing the account. The emphasis here is 'consider' Do not commit yourself at this stage. If they don't buy your bluff, you've lost nothing as you are considering your decision and not 'made it'.0
