in Credit cards
I was wondering if there was any way possible of improving the credit situation I am in. I
I had a CCJ back in 2002 which has been paid off. but still I have a rating of poor with a score of 636.
I was told as long as I make small payments on time my credit score will improve, but I don't think this is happening.
Any suggestions?
Also my mother wants to purchase a second mortgage, which she eventually wants to transfer to me, I'm worried that the mortgage company might stop this from happening. Is this a cause for concern?

A CCJ stays on your record for 6 years.
Was looking for confirmation of this and found
http://www.homeworking.com/library/debt/11.htm
which looks interesting but probably not useful.0 -
So am I right in assuming that the CCJ is the major reason for my poor rating and it will improve once it has been erased?0

where did you get your score from? is that an experian score?
is your score poor, or fair?
you can add a notice of corection to your credit report, such as explaing why you got the ccj, and how you feel that it is affecting your credit, credit lenders will see this everytime they search your file, it might help.0 -
your rating is higher than mine with experian and i just got a current account and a credit card lol
and i have no ccj's or defaults
gonna try for either a virgin or Co-operative Clear Credit Card
god knows wether ill get them but my score has said i have a poor part for having only 2 searches so i gonna try to get a few more searches lmao0 -
you can improve the poor, to fair, if you can obtain credit and maintain payments, such as a capital one card, just spend on it every month, even if it is only 10 pound and pay it off in full every month, this will improve your credit score xx0

Ok, I already have one cancelled Barclaycard and I'm making small payments on its outstanding balance, are you saying apply for another Credit on top of this?0
