Tesco CC - online security request
I paid for goods on line using SecPay and after the payment went through I had a request pop up from Tesco personal finance to set up an on line transaction authorisation code. I ignored this on principal as it was from a third party and not initiated by me, but I'm 99% certain this was legit. Was it? Regards X

Retailers charges on credit vs debit cards
My beloved and I are off shopping tomorrow to buy an engagement ring. Being a good money saving person, I suggested that he be prepared to haggle a bit, or at least try to get a discount for cash. I know retailers have to pay x% if you pay on a credit card. Do they also have to pay x% if you pay with a debit card? IE is…

Is this new - only 95% of credit limit with Egg?
Using Egg as a mule, £3K landed from M & S in the account on 31st May, giving me a positive balnace of £3k. Egg Anniversary started on 1st June. So did a BT for the full £15K credit limit to bank account. On 2nd June the balance was showing, logically as £12K, so tried to do a further BT of £3k. Got an email from Egg…

Monthly Interest Has Pushed Me Over My Credit Limit
Hi, I have the brilliant Egg card and just recently took their 1.9% for three months offer up (it all adds up doesn't it!). I transferred my entire credit limit (£6000) off, and now today they've issued me with my June statement, including the £5 interest. However this now means by balance is £6005 - over my credit limit -…

American Express Platinum Cashback Confusion
I apologise in advance if this has already been discussed but after lots of hunting around on this site and calling Amex, I couldnt get a straight answer. I am thinking about applying for the Amex Platinum card with the tiered cashback: . 0.5% for aggregate amounts up to £3,000; and . 1% for aggregate amounts from £3,001…

How generous are M&S with Credit Limits?
Does anyone know how generous the M&S Card is with credit limits? (I guess you'll have to judge this in relation to the card limits on your other cards...) I normally get around £10,000 after I've asked them to match my highest existing limit. Has anyone succesfully got M&S to match their highest limit? And does anyone…

MBNA to M&S to MBNA again?
Was wondering if I could try this? I have a balance on my MBNA card that is a 0% deal due to expire at the end of the month. I have just transferred it to my M&S credit card at 0% for 6 months. However, I was wondering if, once the balance on MBNA showed as zero, that I could phone them up and ask if I could do another 0%…

I am trying to decide on my next card. A choice between RBS / Natwest or Ulster Bank. The Ulster Bank card does not get mentioned much but seems to be a 9 month 0% deal with no charge. Anyone had any problems with this card?

NatWest Mastercard
I use a NatWest Mastercard and normally pay my balance off in full each month. My last payment was 2 days late in arriving with them due to a weekend and they charged me £14.04 interest which equates to an APR of around 17.5%. I also noticed they had charged a 'Late Payment Fee' of £20.They told me this was standard…

Tesco CC Tell Lies
I wanted to cancel my Tesco card last november, after having cleared the balance. The rep persuaded me to keep it. Two months ago, following advice from this site, I called up to cancel it. I was told that if I did cancel then I would not be eligable for another RBS card for 9 months. I called up Nat-West today to ask…

12/15 Month 0% Balance Transfer
Looking for 0% Balance Transfers for 12, 15 or even 18 month, I naturally typed what I was looking for into Google, which returned many 'hits'. However, all of these hits are for American based Credit Cards. I think I know the answer, but has anyone in the UK tried applying for one of these cards AND been successful?

Can you still be a tart with an SBT?
OK so this is my cunning plan - I need to do lots of work on my house so rather than get a loan I've decided to apply for a 0% credit card and do a super balance transfer into my account so I can pay the builders. But (and this is where I'm probably being incredibly silly) what happens once the 0% runs out, can I transfer…

Intelligent Finance credit card
