in Credit cards
We have an IF offset account which includes our mortgage, credit card, savings and current account.
We currently pay no interest on the IF Visa card as our savings are offset against this balance first and then against our mortgage and consequently we've been a bit lax about reducing the balance and just made minimum payments each month.
Now we've been informed the IF Visa credit card will be cancelled in July (apparently because their system cannot support chip & pin) so we have been offered a new card at 12.9% interest with Halifax Card Services.
Needless to say we will not be taking up this offer and will have to look for a good 0% balance transfer deal instead (probably the Virgin offer after reading your site) but can IF just alter the terms of our offset account like this and why use chip & pin as their pathetic excuse?
