Tesco CC - online security request

I paid for goods on line using SecPay and after the payment went through I had a request pop up from Tesco personal finance to set up an on line transaction authorisation code. I ignored this on principal as it was from a third party and not initiated by me, but I'm 99% certain this was legit.

Don't have a Tesco card so not sure, either contact the retailer you were buying from and query it or ring and ask Tesco, could be legit, could be a scam?2p off is still 2p off!0

Tesco are offering an online code service and you do get a pop up. It seems like a good idea but I am being a bit dilatory in setting mine up. I think this is the nudge to go and do it.
I assumed it only pops up for people using a Tesco card though.0
