Useful website for problems with companies based in the US.
Hello all, If you have a complaint about a company in the US, try using the Better Business Bureau. They will contact the company in question on your behalf, and every time I failed to get a resolution from the company myself the BBB has sorted things out for me. http://www.bbb.org Regards, Cooldude

HP Laptop, Faulty, In warranty from PC World
I bought a new laptop in April 2011 from PC World (HP Pavilion dv6). 2-3 times a day the screen freezes for about 10 seconds, the fan speeds up, then the display goes black for 2-3 seconds and then comes back on - any programmes running seem unaffected by this but some web pages have unitelligible displays so have to…

Central Heating Cover
A colleague at work asked me this, and tbh I'm not sure. About 4 months ago he took out central heating cover. He has had a problem with his heating and when the engineer came to look at the boiler…

Is this debt now settled . . . . .?
Scenario: I pull onto a petrol station forecourt and proceed to fill my tank with £5.00 of fuel. I am now indebted to this company to the tune of £5.00. I hand over a perfectly legal £50.00 note as payment. The staff member refuses to accept stating it is policy not to accept £50.00 notes and in no way implies that the…

Would appreciate other's views on this. A week ago I went into Sports Direct to buy a birthday present for a friend (whom I was meeting for lunch that day). I bought a jacket and paid for it in cash. Groupon and cash refunds
I bought a fruit and veg box from Groupon recently. Before I purchased the deal, it stated that the box could be delivered Friday-Sunday 10am-6pm. This was repeated in the voucher they emailed to me. When I phoned the company to order it, they said they could only deliver on a Friday 4-7pm. I don't get home from work until…

Shoes toes wearing after less than a day.
I bought some faux leather ankle boots on Saturday. Wore them for the first time to work. By 10.30 they had worn through on the toe. Not right through- more like it had rubbed off the top soft layer leaving webbing exposed underneath. I would post a pic but no idea how to. Am I within my rights to take them back?
