Question from a shop worker

No more of the rubbish I got last time. I am simply finding out the law so I can help the customer
Customer bought 2 hard drives in August 2011. He said he has only just checked but realised one hard drive is missing. We have done a stock take on said hard drive and we are not missing one or have we gained one. The last time there was any variance was with the riots.
What do I tell the customer who is coming in to see the store?
Cheers

you tell him he should have checked sooner - you don't have to do a stock check for this, he had more than enough time to check the staus of the HDD's. I wouldn't even mention you've done a stock check as this just implies the guy is lying and will only aggrivate the situation further.
Does the business you work for have terms of sale? Was the sale completed in person or via delivery?0 -
I think you can pretty much tell him that there's nothing you can do as he's left it too long.
When was your last stock take? if you've done one since he bought the drives, was there an extra one?0 -
OK no nonsense............tell him to get lost.
Now that was easy.
Regardless as to whether he is telling the truth, he should have checked earlier.0 -

Stock take was done after the riots to account for loss0 -

strange. someone purchased 2 hard drives and then only noticed 3 months later he only had 1 hard drive. how can anyone not notice this in 3 months. i would of assumed that if he purchased 2 hard drives this would be because he needed them at the time, so to not noice he only has 1 is daft in my eyes. i think he may be trying to pull a fast 10 -
just sounds like he's chancing his luck trying to get a free hard drive to me.Come on, it's not rocket surgery is it?0

My hard drive was sat in its box for well over a year! Having said that, I would not dream of trying to claim from the shop if I'd realised it was missing when I finally opened it.0 -
why have the prices rocketed then what caused that?Come on, it's not rocket surgery is it?0
