I bought a fruit and veg box from Groupon recently. Before I purchased the deal, it stated that the box could be delivered Friday-Sunday 10am-6pm. This was repeated in the voucher they emailed to me.
When I phoned the company to order it, they said they could only deliver on a Friday 4-7pm. I don't get home from work until after 6pm and I'd never have bought it if this had been stated up front. As a compromise I asked if they'd deliver on a Friday but guarantee that it would be after 6pm but they refused. The company couldn't really have cared less, they just said I should get a refund. Easier said than done...
I emailed Groupon and requested a refund and they offered the money back in credits. The amount is only £9 but I just don't see why I should be given credits for a company I've almost completely lost faith in and will be reluctant to ever use again. They said if the company would email them to confirm that they couldn't deliver in the stated timeframe then they'd refund the money to my card. I've tried to contact them but unsurprisingly they're ignoring me. Groupon insist that if I'm unable to get confirmation from the company then they will only offer credits.
Do I have any rights to a cash refund? Is there any way I can take this further?

I'm confused It said on the voucher it could only be delivered in times where you're at work but you still bought it and now they're saying they can only deliver between 4 - 7, which ends an hour after you're home from work which is inconvenient but you've asked for them to guarantee it to be delivered before you get home from work? £2023 in 2023 challenge - £17.79 January0 It said on the voucher it could only be delivered in times where you're at work but you still bought it and now they're saying they can only deliver between 4 - 7, which ends an hour after you're home from work which is inconvenient but you've asked for them to guarantee it to be delivered before you get home from work? £2023 in 2023 challenge - £17.79 January0

My understanding is that the terms on Groupon say Friday - Sunday, so the OP bought the voucher, but that when they tried to redeem it, the delivering company has different (more restrictive and less convenient terms)kiss_me_now9 wrote: »I'm confused It said on the voucher it could only be delivered in times where you're at work but you still bought it and now they're saying they can only deliver between 4 - 7, which ends an hour after you're home from work which is inconvenient but you've asked for them to guarantee it to be delivered before you get home from work? They requested that the delivering company ensure it is between 6 and 7 on the Friday, but the company is refusing to narrow it down to just a one hour slot, rather than any time in the three hour slot.Competition wins: Where's Wally Goody Bag, Club badge branded football, Nivea for Men Goody Bag0

Sorry, to clarify, I don't work Saturdays or Sundays so I wanted it delivered then. I do work on Fridays, so I wouldn't have bought a voucher with such a restrictive delivery period.0

Can you have it delivered to work perhaps?0

I am with you there. I brought a gas boiler service and for the life of me couldn't get hold of this company! You were supposed to fill out a survey and allow 10 days for them to contact you, no contact and no one ever answered their telephone so I contacted Groupon and they would only refund in credits. I agree this is very unfair and once I have spent my credits, I will not be dealing with Groupon again. No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!
Thanks to everyone who posts competitions. You are the stars of the board :T:j:T0

I thought of that but it'd mean potentially staying late at work on a Friday night (because I finish at 5:30 but their delivery could be any time up to 7pm) then carrying a big box of veg home on the bus. I wouldn't have bought the Groupon if I'd known that would be the only way to get it delivered.
I'm past the stage now where there's going to be any resolution with the company because the coupon has expired.
Does anyone know if I have any legal rights to a cash refund in these circumstances?
Thanks for your advice so far.0

I'm totally done with Groupon after this. This isn't the first poor experience I've had with them but it will definitely be the last. I used to think they were great and would tell everyone to sign up for their emails but now I'll be telling them to steer clear. Their horrendous customer service has been nothing but a source of frustration and bad feeling.0

            Hi there
I have also had an experience just like this one. I bought 2 beauty vouchers, one for me and one as a gift. I tried contacting the company and their website states that they hav emoved locations. I have tried contacting them thorough their website na don the telephone. They have not got back to me and the voucher runs out at the end of December.
I contacted Groupon and asked for my money back as I had not received any of the goods that I purchased thorugh them. They replied (after 3 days) saying that I could have a refund in Groupon vouchers to the amount of £50 which would be valid for 6 months.
I don't know how I am going to spend £50 on stuff I don't really want or need. I also have to be out of pocket for the replacement Birthday gift I now need to buy.
Surely they can't treat their customers like this????
 Any help would be appreciated.0
