Hi
I ordered a ladder from telescopic-ladders-direct.com 2 weeks ago.
Recieved confirmation of the order via email and so say i am suppossed to recieve an email confirming its dispatch to me. delivery is meant to be 2-3 days. still no sign of the delivery and no email confirming dispatch.
we have left numurous emails and Voicemails on the contact details on the website but still no response at all.
We paid by Visa card.
has anyone dealt with this firm??
We want the ladder but have no idea how else to reach the company. I can't even find it listed on company house website.
Thanks in advance. Mary:money:

I've never used them, but they don't appear to be a Ltd company and therefore won't be on the companieshouse website. It's more than likely they are a sole trader.
If nothing surfaces and no contact after say 30 days you should be able to make a chargeback claim with the bank.
Their returns address appears to be different to their main address, maybe they've recently moved address and have a backlog? Although their domains only been registered for about 15months (although it may well simply be a sub-website for SEO purposes).
Tbh any comments would simply be speculation. Maybe send a letter inviting them to contact you, then contact the card company if that fails.0 -
There's a few discrepancies on that site that get me suspicious.
1. The address given (and even shown on their 'find us' page) is clearly residential
2. The privacy policy on the T&Cs page states: "TV Brackets Online do not disclose buyers' information"
3. Nowhere is a limited company, or company registration mentioned.
3. The returns address is what looks like a lock-up that google maps shows as 'Safemount' (remember the TV brackets connection?). Looking that up on companies house (05943046) shows the same Burrswood Place address. That company however is showing as dissolved in Oct 2010. (which in itself may not be unusual, but certainly doesn't reassure me.) The director of that company has no other active companies at that address (that I could see on a different search).
Now the big question, has any money been taken?
Now it could be that you may eventually get a reply etc (if it's a sole trader, are they on holiday?), the money will be taken and you'll get your order. However 30 days after ordering the DSR kicks in anyway & the contract is deemed to be cancelled (unless agreed otherwise). Whilst on the DSR, their T&Cs state they will deduct the original delivery cost from a return; this is contrary to the DSR - they must refund the original delivery cost.
However my opinion would be that given the above (and the lack of response) I would be inclined to send an email and cancel the order.
I like to firmly know who I'm dealing with and when shopping. If there is no company registration information then who are you buying from? An individual? Given the strange other links (references to TV brackets & Safemount) etc I would be looking to deal with something more certain.0 -
That seems to me as he's perhaps bought the assets of the company before it went under and continued trading from home. Which coincides with the date the domain was registered.0

Have been trying to do a bit of research on this company as I became suspicious when my ladders never arrived and came across this forum. In response to maryanna1979 exactly the same thing has happened to me. They've taken the money and I have only ever received 2 emails - one confirming order and one reply to when I wanted to know when delivery was - someone called Iain thanked me for 'my kind order' and said it would be with me in 5-7 working days. Surprise suprise it never showed up. I have left many messages on the answer phone for the 2 company numbers I have but not one call back and no responses back from emails either. We had taken time of work to wait for the delivery of these ladders. I became suspiscious when I continually tried to ring them and no one ever answered the phone. I have requested my credit card company to now dispute this payment with the company. Fingers crossed!0

Couldn't believe it - ladders arrived at the end of last week directly from company who make them not who I ordered them off. Great ladders - shame couldn't say the same about the company I ordered them through. Don't people realise they have to be at the end of a phone and reply to phone calls and emails if they want to run a successful business.0

I was a bit concerned when my ladders didn't arrive after 15 days and 3 emails and two answer machine messages then i found this forum and feared the worst as i had payed for them on a debit card.
So the next day i rang again and left a message on the answer machine asking for a delivery date or to cancel the order.
When i arrived home from work the same day the ladders where sat in my porch.
That was on the 23-1-2012 so all i can say is that they are still trading so try not to worry as there maybe a backlog or something.

Hi folks,
Whether this 'business' is still strictly trading or not, I'd steer well clear. At best they are utterly disorganised, at worst utterly dishonest and not operating within the law in several cases.
I ordered some long ladders & clamps on overnight delivery via the website on 12th Jan. I received an acknowledgement via email of this £150 order. Other than autoresponses this is the only contact I've had from this company and as of 31st Jan no sign of my order. My phonecalls simply go to the answer machine of some Essex wideboy and emails are ignored.
Just over a week ago I therefore sent a formal letter on the advice of trading standards advising them they were in breach of contract, and that as they had not delivered the order I was still within my 14 day cooling off period and thus wanted a full refund if they could not deliver within 7 days (to 26th). They didn't.
I had also spoken to Coop bank and they were positive that this £150 order could be charged back as I had used a Visa Debit. Yes debit can be charged back too - just check with your bank. To commence this process, after still no contact, I penned the formal letter to my bank last night. By coincidence, the money was refunded this morning into my account so I won't be needing to start this particular process.
That said, I will be writing to trading standards, OFT, etc at the very leasty as this company is shoddy. They are trading simply on the basis that most people give up and write the money off. Don't. There is someone there reading emails and listening to messages but ignoring most of them until they deem it serious enough to respond. They will keep taking money off those perhaps with too much of it who give up too easily. Be persistent.
Ultimately this guy will get what he deserves.......0 -
Attracted to the free delivery thing......I suspect he's a sole trader and dashes around making deliveries across the UK when he can? Perhaps I'm being too kind?
Still waiting for my ladders......irony is that I'm not too far away from him so might go calling on him in person.
Perhaps I'll trun up as pillion passenger on bike, leather's n all and tell him my name is Matt! :rotfl:0 -
