Pub issues!

A little off the MSE topic list, however something that both myself and one of our solicitors were wondering today.
Whilst the MSE board know some of our problems, there is an issue of legal information being passed around a pub by an employee of a company we are in dispute with over a rather large sum of money, and also a company that my OH used to own (!)
There is a current legal dispute, which will be going to court in February, regarding over £100,000, which I have already proven to Police and courts after several accusations of fraud following the same of the company.
Although I cannot say too much without dropping myself in hot water, this matter has now been partly cleared, bar some of the more important aspects, and due to the nature of some people we are friends with (Politics, legal, police, business etc) something that could land several people in rather a lot of trouble, with one possibly being forced to resign, including the allegation of running the entire company under the table, whilst using VAT numbers and relevant contact with HMRC. Needless to say, under the new ownership, this is one of the most hated companies in town, both with opposition and the general public! In this day and age, I can’t believe that a taxi company is allowed to run ‘X’ registration Galaxies covered in dents and rust, but that’s just my opinion. This car belonged to the company before we bought it in 2001, and we sold it to an owner-driver in 2005, before selling the company in 2008!
Back to the point, a dubious individual who sits on control at the relevant office sees it fit to disclose information and accuse us of running our own company, an international music firm specialising in young people, under the table and ‘ripping the artists off’ to customers. Is the 50% better than the 3% that the large labels get away with charging? I think so! I have also faced several allegations that have never gone to the police, including sexual assault on this staff member and harassment. I duefully declined an offer of ‘extras’, when asked, in fear of catching something!
Needless to say I won’t be visiting the pub again, but is there anything that can be done about this?!

I wouldn't wish to travel in a vehicle that looks a state, however, cabs are usually subjected to checks in addition and more stringent than an MOT so it's unlikely to be unsafe.
With regards to the rest of the post, it's hard to understand what advice your looking for as you seem to go back and forth about many issues.
But if these allegations are being in the pub, why not simply avoid it from now on? If these allegations are being made, i'd also be inclined to make a police report about which would act in your favour if the allegations was to be falsely reported to the police.0 -

I wouldn’t wish to travel in any of their vehicles, but that’s beside the point.
I’m literally looking for advice with regard to how to deal with the offender in this. It’s clear that she is out to destroy my career, however part of me wants her to go the the police. With 2 children and my OH with me, it would hardly be a difficult case to lose!
Privileged info being passed around a pub, that legally speaking she shouldn’t actually know? Surely that’s illegal on both the directors and herself for passing the info on?!?!?! This is the main issue.
Her trying to cause problems is giving more and more info to win the case, however when I’m stopped outside Natwest and asked bluntly (or rather told bluntly) by a regular pub-goer with young children I’ve committed a £100,000 fraud? That’s the problem here.
I’d be almost mortgage-free by now if I had!💙💛 💔0 -
If its untrue and damaging to you, perhaps you would have grounds to sue for slander? You'd be better placed discusssing it with your solicitor, but perhaps a well worded letter threatening to sue would scare her off a little? or would you be able to obtain a court order to restrain her from such?
With regards to the 'regular' who stopped you, i'd not so politely tell him to mind his own ** business and do one. It's got nothing to do with him and he might think twice next time he wishes to verbalise gossip to you.
You may be able to stop the fictitious gossip from her -- but if shes bad mouthing you your kinda restricted on what you can do about it. I doubt you'll get a court order to stop a pub full of busy bodies talking about you.
There are a few non-legitimate ways of dealin with it though
But tbh, if shes helping you win your court case then could you not consider simply recording everything and using it to your advantage? May also save you a few bob in legal fees if the case is found in your favour quicker than it would otherwise. 0 -

Dara’s on it!...i'd not so politely tell him to mind his own ** business and do one. It's got nothing to do with him and he might think twice next time he wishes to verbalise gossip to you.
Dara’s on that one, too. Don’t think I didn’t, however with ‘concerns’ over my mental health with regards to my attitude (you don’t mess with me twice, especially after me letting around 100 customers know my thoughts on the gossip, before I left last time)
I am apparently barred as of September 4th for this action. Good job *insert Landlady’s name here*!💙💛 💔0
