1st Direct - three quick questions
My OH has opened this account and will be putting 1st £1500 in this month. The questions I have: 1) Does he need to physically put £1500 in each month or would £1 in the e-saver somehow negate the need to do the monthly transfer (I've seen some contradictory info re this on the forum) A link to T&C would be great. 2) Does…

Halifax Current Account
I'm thinking of opening a new Halifax current account for the £5 per month 'reward'. However as I have just been made redundant I will not have my salary paid into the account, but I can transfer £1000 from my savings from another bank into this account on a monthly basis. Would doing this qualify for the reward? Thanks

Halifax £100 offer for joint ac
We both have Reward accounts (opened about 6 months ago) and are receiving the fivers, but not using the accounts for much else. We have a Santander joint account which has 1 SO and 1 DD, no overdraft. Since it gets 5% on £2500, it's not very good as a joint ac and would be better as joint savings, because every time the…

Business bank account compulsory for Sole Trader?
Hi, sorry if this has already been covered in a previous post. I'm just about to set up as a Sole Trader and have been told that I need to have a business bank account as opposed to an ordinary separate current account that I would use purely for business transactions. Does anyone know if this is true? I'd obviously like…

ATM with highest withdrawal limit
Hi everyone, I've recieved prepaid moneyshare card from my family with 1200£ loaded on it. I'd like to withdraw cash, but they charge roughly 5£ per withdrawal. I know typical ATM got a limit of 300-400£ per transaction. So I'm looking for ATM in London with limits higher than that, so I can make less transactions. Any…

Hi, My daughter is a medical student and is taking out a special "elective" loan with Bank of Ireland to do her summer elective (working abroad for the summer on medical stuff). Metro Bank Debit Mastercard Offline
Hello, I'm wondering if all Debit Mastercard's that Metro Banks issue are offline? On my account I was given a letter saying that I was approved for a £0 overdraft and when read with a card reader the magnetic strip indicates that it's an offline card. However is this because the computer thought I had an overdraft even…

Had a letter on friday telling us 3 standing orders were not paid as there were 'No Funds Available'. This was odd as I don't use that account for paying out, apart from the bills. Another acc has spending money. Anyway, spoke to a nice lady who told me on the 1st of February there was a problem with standing orders, and…

Internet Fraud
Has anyone heard anything about the new internet banking hackers who can gain access even to a'ccounts that have the card reader.
