HI

im in the middle of cleaning some cc debt but once clear i would like to change banks

i have dormat accounts with TSB
my current account with Santander
my mortgage with Halifax

i was thinking of closing TSB and Santander and having a current account and basic savings account with halifax which is also who my mortgage is with

What are your thoughts on this

i know people say dont bank where you have debt, but does this also mean your mortgage as well?

my reason for lumping it with the same bank, is to keep it all together under one roof and might up my credit rating in a way - please correct me if im wrong

advise please :j

The only reason for not banking where you have debt is if you are in/may go into default on your mortgage.

If you don't make your mortgage payments, then they may take the money straight from your other accounts to bring you up to date on the mortgage.

There would be no benefit to your credit rating.
