Are banks going to collapse soon in this economic climate?
Are we going to see banks collapsing soon in this economic climate? What about the big ones in the US? Like Bank of America and Citibank who lost in one day of this week around 20% of their shares?

I have a list of Bill Payments registered with Abbey, it is a letter sent from head office in 2008. I asked for an updated list and Santander say I can't have one and that I never could and such…

He has an account with NatWest, which he is overdrawn at. He oppened another account, perhaps foolishly, with the same bank. Now…

HSBC Debit Card
Is it just me or are these really flimsy? Had my Advance CGC for Six Months now; and it's all cracked across the middle. Always been kept in wallet, in front pocket. Used 2-3 times a day. Pretty average really. Six monts? For it to disintegrate? I notice that my Credit Cards are thicker, so more robust. Ho hum, guess I'll…

Can anyone recommend a substitute for MS Money?
Hi, I used to use MS Money to manage my finances - something quick which would download all of my account information into a central place and allow me to tag or split various charges, debits or credits accordingly. It was really useful! Unfortunately I've lost the programme and can't seem to find a suitable replacement…

First Direct - not so good for existing customers
By all means take advantage of First Direct's sweetener for new current account customers but be aware that its savings rates for existing customers are hopeless. 0.25% for an e-saver, and the ISA rate is lower for existing customers than new. If you are lucky enough to have some money to save, look elsewhere.

Can't get out of my overdraft...
I'm with Halifax and pay the £12.50 a month to have an overdraft of £300 without any daily charges. However, if I go over this amount I get charged £1 a day up to my arranged overdraft. If I go over my arranged overdraft I get charged £5 a day. I'm trying so hard to get my overdraft but these charges, although only small,…
