Hello, I am just wondering how many student current accounts can you have open at one time? As my student loan will hardly cover my accommodation and i have already got it set to maximum.

Depends on the account, you should read the T&Cs.0

You are SUPPOSED to only have one student account.
However there is nothing in reality stopping you from opening multiple ones.
There was a frightening story on BBC3 of a young lad back before "the troubles" of 2008, who went to every high street bank and opened an account with the maximum overdraft avaliable.
Then over the next 3 years went out and blew the lot.
In the end it ruined his life as he had to declare himself bankrupt and couldn't get a job anywhere.
