Ceapest Line Rental
Hi, In the latest MSE email, under the 'Landlines' it names Post office @£10 and TalkTalk @ £14.35 as two cheapest over 12 month while PlusNet at £12.99 does not get a mention. Am I missing something?

TalkTalk offer some half price packages if you sign up before Xmas
Afternoon! I spotted this - http://recombu.com/digital/news/talktalk-offers-half-price-essentials-and-plus-tv-and-broadband-for-a-year I have no idea how good (or bad) TalkTalk actually are, but this could be a good deal for some of you. I also really have no idea about their TV stuff.

Vodafone tech support. Fit for purpose?
A couple of months ago Vodafone sent us an R206 mifi. Tried to use it yesterday and although we can connect we can't get into the Admin panel to change any passwords etc. The default password 'admin' keeps getting rejected. The only reason I can think of is that they have sent us a corporate instead of a personal one,…

Best internet security to buy or download??!!
This follows hot on the heel of my eviction thread. I will probably need to get new Internet Security on my laptop and my son's at some point in next couple of weeks as the Virgin freebie has run out. Is there one that people would recommend to download, for the simple-minded!?? There are quite a few around, and I have no…

Evicted, homeless - what could I use for temporary internet access?
Had to close my Virgin phone/internet account, as we are being evicted. Probably will end up in Bed & Breakfast, who knows, its all a mess. Anyway, when we are living in B&B we will have no internet access, which I will need at times, and my son will need for homework. Should I buy a dongle (don't know much about them) for…

£5 a month BTL/Virgin Xbox live???
Hi guys, Many many years ago I think NTL told my dad that in order to play the xbox online we needed to pay £5 a month. It turns out my dad has continued to pay this for approx ten years now. However I know this £5 fee is not required, especially as I used to rent a property that had virgin net and the console just…

Plusnet £75 Cashback via MSE link
In Martin's Cheap broadband article, there is a mention of £75 cashback by following the link provided by MSE "£75 cashback. Provided you've used the link above and not gone direct, you'll get a £75 cheque......" However, as Plusnet are already giving £75 on their website (even if you go direct to them), does that mean £75…

Hello my Giffgaff PAYG connection on my Huawei dongle doesn't work any more: it says connected on the dongle, but when I opened Chrome it tells me it's not connected to the Internet. Anyone know how to solve this? I tried uninstalling and re-installing the dongle (Mobile Partner) but still don't work thank you

Sky Talk package upgraded - Does a new "12 month minimum term" apply?
Hi, I have been a Sky customer since October 2013 (Sky Entertainment, Sky Broadband Unlimited, Sky Talk Anytime UK, Line rental) but upgraded Sky Talk service to "Sky Talk Anytime International" about a month ago. What I am unsure about and need to know is if I am now bound by a "new" 12 month minimum term/contract because…

TalkTalk Prices going up - So PlusNet for me
I have been looking to move away from Talk Talk having been with them for 4 years they are really not offering what I want any more. :( I am actually happy with TalkTalk but not their prices. Basically I want Broadband and anytime calls. They seem to want me to have a TV box, a mobile sim (for free?) and other stuff I…

Sky Contract - Broadband upgrade
Afternoon. Was just wondering if anyone knew whether this is something I can cancel without having to buy out the rest of the contract, basically because I don't know if it amounts to a "new" contract and I'd have to wait out 12 months. I moved a few months ago, and so took my Sky broadband and TV with me - They told me…

Sky broadband
Hello all I'm currently coming to end of my contract with sky. Paying £10 per month for broadband, but have a line rental with that. So all in all it's an amazing deal, as all I want in broadband. Following instructions form Mse site, I can't really haggle with that as there isn't any other provider which could match that?…

Virgin Broadband and Phone
I called Virgin recently to cancel the Phone part of my Broadband/Phone deal. Imagine my surprise to be told I'd be charged more for Broadband on its own than I was paying for both services ! Presumably they'd also have tried to tie-in a further 12 months on the broadband, though I didn't get that far. I consider this a…

MAC Code £30 charge - Plusnet to BT
Been stung again, 18 months ago it was O2 now plusnet...These companies must make millions from this under hand charge. I had a conversation with BT who said I might not need the code, looked on Plusnet website under 'Moving to a new supplier' which says you need to ask for the code but no mention of a £30 charge if you…

How can my sister get broadband?
My sister lives in a rural area when there are very few options for broadband provision. She decided to go with Plusnet because although she has TalkTalk for her phone, they do not provide broadband in her area. Everything seemed fine with Plusnet giving her a start date then nothing. Contacted Plusnet who said there was a…

Plustnet deal 11 nov
I currently pay £22/month for BT (line rental + free evening/WEs calls which I use very little, almost never except when Sky took over O2 and I had to call), and £14/month for Sky broadband (ex O2)... Download speed 7Mbits/s, upload 900Kbit/s. I have a O2 router Thomson 100Mbits/s which I configure for firewall to access a…

EE Contract Problems
Hi just wondering if anyone can give me some advice on how to get out of an EE contract without paying the £125 early leaving fee. I took out the contract for home broadband end of August this year and have had no end of problems since. I have basically not had working internet (it's slower than dial up) since the get go.…
