Virgin Broadband and Phone

I called Virgin recently to cancel the Phone part of my Broadband/Phone deal. Imagine my surprise to be told I'd be charged more for Broadband on its own than I was paying for both services !
Presumably they'd also have tried to tie-in a further 12 months on the broadband, though I didn't get that far.
I consider this a blatant ripoff designed to try some future excessive overcharge for fake phone calls...
My response was to say I'd make complaint to their complaints dept and then the industry regulator. How can the individual service cost more than two combined ? Any comments welcome...:(

I agree it's very annoying - I found the same thing.
But I'm not sure that you have any grounds for a complaint. Virgin are free to price their services as they want to.
I guess they are thinking that if you have a phone, they will earn more profits from the calls you make. (And I believe that Virgin also receive a fee when people call you.)0 -

Cancel and wait for them to call you. I was offered 50mb broadband and phone for 15 a month with two months credit. That's 12.50 p/m over the year.0 -
