To Fix or Not
I'm after some opinions as to whether I should fix or not -as all the advice seems to suggest fix. I'm currently on E.ON SaveOnline 4 and can change to E.ON Fixed Price 5 but my calculations suggest that based on our usage ( 5450kwh elec and 17943 gas) the increase would equate to 16% on Elec and 31% on gas). The predicted…

As per title. Just applied to switch so it hasn't actually happened yet. Should I cancel my BG Homecare or will they still cover me even though my Gas and Electricity will soon be from EDF? thanks

British Gas – price promise until 2013?
I normally pay my gas and electricity via BG when the bill arrives every 3 months. BG has sent me a price promise until 2013, fixing the prices. Is this good to go for? Is the extra charge (it says at 5% premium)? Are the better suppliers I should look for? Or shall I just throw it in the bin (letter from BG)? Thanks for…

Scottish Power- Bamboozled.
A question, I am on e saver 6 Scottish Power, I appreciate they can increase prices during the year (although they appear to have cocked it up last winter) but can they mess around with the number of primary and secondary units? would it not be a different tariff when they start changing these. I have just noticed that my…

No Gas Bill in Six Months
About six months ago, I changed both my gas and electricity suppliers the same day to EDF. The meters were both changed on different days within two weeks. I have since got two 3-monthly bills for electricity, but none for gas. I called to enquire, but the staff wasn't sure if they indeed took up my gas supply as he asked…

Npower conundrum
Hi, I'm currently with NPower for both gas and electric, on a standard tariff. I pay cash quarterly when the bill arrives. I recently went to the comparison sites and did a check up. With my annual usage, it says I could save £95 switching to one of NPowers capped deals ( Great I'm thinking ) Now here's my question... I…

Powerful Radiator
Hi All, We have quite a large family room in our house, around 21' x 26' and a small part of it has underfloor heating. At the other end, we have a single tower radiator. Now, we have 25' wide sliding glass doors accross one wall, so as you can imagine, the room is freezing in the winter. The tower rad & underfloor heating…

Fixed tariff that isn't fixed!
Apologies if this has been discussed before, but, we've just switched to EDF for a tariff fixed until 31st March 2014. We were told exactly how much we would be paying for both gas & electricity per month by direct debit, but now we've been told that they may adjust the payments depending on how much we use! We told them…

NPower or British Gas - Problem
I transferred from British Gas to Npower in October 2006 for both my gas and electric and i use token meters for both. The gas meter NPower put in was a new one so i got a new card, they told me it didn't matter for the electric, keep using the old British Gas key so i did. I wanted continuous meters putting in so phoned…

Am I tied into a contract
Hi there, I changed both my Gas and Electricity to British Gas 'Websaver 11' back in April. Am I stuck with this for 12 months now or am I free to leave? I haven't had any paperwork since switching (I was on another BG tariff before switching) so do not know. Thanks for any help.

Npower 4 to 5 digit meter problems, moving house want to change supplier
Hi, Any advice would be much appreciated. My problem began in April this year. I received a quarterly electricity bill for nearly £4k. I rang Npower straight away as this seemed ridiculous because I live in a small 2 bed flat. I was told that my meter was in fact a 5 digit meter rather than 4 and would have to pay this…

I'm almost £500 in credit with SSE...
...so naturally I called up and asked for it back - but they've said no. No because a couple of the bills are estimated, but we had an SSE guy come round last week and get a proper meter reading. But that's still not enough! They're saying I have to wait for my six-monthly bill in order to get it back 'in case I'm not in…
