No Gas Bill in Six Months
About six months ago, I changed both my gas and electricity suppliers the same day to EDF. The meters were both changed on different days within two weeks. I have since got two 3-monthly bills for electricity, but none for gas.
I called to enquire, but the staff wasn't sure if they indeed took up my gas supply as he asked who my supplier was!
What do I do? Would I be sent a big bill eventually? Would I have to pay the bill if sent?
Please let me know so I don't regret this!

Yes you will have to pay for your gas eventually, once the suppliers have decided who is supplying you. I'd suggest putting some money away so it's not such a big shock when the bill arrives. If unsure how much, compare your opening meter readings against today's readings, and you could try using a comparison site to check how much the cost should be on the tariffs (you'll need to convert it to kWh and treat it as an annual figure for these purposes).
I'd have thought that you will either be with your old supplier or with edf; try contacting them again to press them to make investigations. When you switched, did you receive confirmation from edf about both parts of your energy supply, or just the electricity?0 -
I received a confirmation for just electricity, but I am very positive it was edf who came and changed the gas meter too0

It's irrelevant who changed the meter, it could have been a third party. You can find your gas supplier from this link:

Yes, you are liable for all gas used for up to 2 years back.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
I have been with EDF from december last year, exactly the same for me, taking the electric DD but not the gas, so I suggest it is a problem in their system.
When I rang them about their £600 bill they agreed to take £90 monthly until the account is in balance (we use around £50/month).
