MANDATORY MIGRATION FROM T/C TO UC
Hi all, Has anyone had any experience of being in receipt of working and child tax credits and then having to move to UC? I was at the end of the deadline in March so had to move over and now for 2 months I have found myself £480 less a month down! Which is leaving me in an absolute hole. Im a single mum to 1 daughter and…

10k UC overpayment
I was relatively new to UC and was private renting after fleeing domestic abuse. I moved to another place with help of council and LHA remained the same. Only recently, despite address being changed everywhere else, I realised address was wrong on UC. I informed them and they didn't give me a penalty saying they understood…

Migration to UC, when to start the claim...
Hello, My deadline to claim for UC under the WTC migration is the 13th of June. My next TC payment is on the 11th of June. Would the best idea be to start my claim online and fill out the different sections. Then submit it on the 11th June, or is it better to get it filled out now and submitted? Thx

My wife and I are seperating and we are wondering how to go about splitting benefits.
As my title says, my wife and I are seperating and going to divorce, even though we are divorcing I will still be living in the home as I am also her carer. I am a joint claimant on her ESA benefit, and we are wondering if we should seperate our benefits now, or wait until we've divorced, any advice would be appreciated.

Child finished college. Tax Credits auto stopped. Salary went up. Received overpayment notice.
We've had stable incomes for the last few years, and received Tax Credits as normal. Our child finished college and payments stopped automatically on 31/8/23. Up until that point, our household income was similar to previous years. After that, our income increased, and we've received the end of year TC notification saying…

Husband refuses to equitably share benefit income
I’m looking for help on behalf of my sister. She has recently confided in me that she is having money problems with her husband. They are both in receipt of ESA, including several disability premium's. The premiums are paid via her husbands ESA and he will not ‘share’ this money with my sister, despite the fact that the…

Universal credit
I got a letter saying that Universal Credit will be replacing working tax credits. But it’s not really a replacement, is it. Working tax credits never took into account your savings/investments but universal credit seems to. I am curious, is there a way to work out how much savings will be too much to bother with UC? As a…

UC savings question
I've had a letter today from UC to say they've got reason to believe I've got undeclared capital. I don't at all. I don't work and have a meagre few quid in savings here and there. However it's a joint claim and my husband is currently in the process of buying a house, his father has transferred him an amount of money to…

Migrated from Tax credits to UC but awarded nothing
I had the migration letter and filled out the forms and now UC say I am entitled to nothing. I was getting £451/month for tax credits plus free prescriptions and glasses. I earn just under £13000 a year, am a single mum and have a 16 year old in full time education, no savings over £6k. So i think I understand my…
