Only those entitled to means tested Pension Credit (or those low income pensioners who meet the means tested eligibility for HB / CTr).

Alice Holt Forest situated some 4 miles south of Farnham forms the most northerly gateway to the South Downs National Park.

You can get Council Tax benefit and Housing Benefit even if you are not entitled to Pension Credit.  You can some or nearly all of it paid.  If you get Attendance Allowance the amount of help you get may be increased.

If you put your details into one of the online benefit checkers you can get some idea of what you can get.

Plus nothing is automatic. You need to apply and be assessed.

The OP never stated that pensioners should get a reduction, just if they do. This is what the forum is all about, asking questions about possible benefits.

Benefits like housing benefit and council tax support and pension credit are means tested. If you get even one pound of Guaranteed pension credit pensioners generally get full housing benefit and council tax support. being entitled to claim Pension credit will depend on income, savings, whether someone is in receipt of a disability benefit or is a carer etc.

Where I live, CT is charged at £5.50 a week for those of working age claiming benefits.
    Council next door charges nothing.
A the pensioners where I live, those on the state pension only, get all but a few quid of rent paid and most if not all CT
    paid for.
The housing association get them in 3 months before and helps fill out all the forms for a smooth transfer across.
