Lost a freezer's worth of food.
Just been away for a few days. My friend from down the road has very kindly been feeding my cat while I've been away. :j When I left home I put the dishwasher on, so that there were no dirty dishes waiting for me when I came home, but it still hadn't finished the cycle by the time I left the house, so I text my friend and…

URGENT: casserole too spicy - what can I do?
I've made lamb tagine for tea, and whilst DH and I like spicy food I know the kids will pull their faces. Think I overdid it with the chilli powder. I've put a raw potato in, in the hope it'll draw some of the spiciness out like it does with saltiness, but any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, soba

Cook AT HOME, for God's sake!!
Maybe there is a forum dedicated to cooking but I couldn't find it! Please feel free, M Moderator, to move this wherever appropriate. Maybe the students forum would be quite an idea... I seem to hear with monotonous regularity people complaining about how short they are of money - and then sitting down to a cosy evening…

Storing food-biscuits, cakes and freezing stuff!
Hi Guys I want to make some biscuits this weekend but I am not sure how to store them to stop them from going soft, with shop biscuits I usually just bung them in the fridge (they are usually chocolate!) but decided that home made must surely be cheaper and probably better for us. I also have the same problem with cakes, I…
