Hi,

does anyone use this? I want to try some but need to know how much a "cup" translates into.

By the way - great book - yet another OS board driven purchase!

Yes, I use this all the time. A US cup measure holds 8 fluid oz (a US half pint).

If you are going to make these and other recipes often I'd recommend you invest in a set of American measuring cups. They make life a lot easier. They usually come in 1 cup, 1/2 cup, 1/3 cup and 1/4 cup sets. You can buy them in any cook shop, they aren't expensive.

If you haven't got a set, improvise with a large yogurt pot. Pour in 8 fl oz of water. Mark the pot where the water comes up to and cut it down to make your own cup measure.

Oh yes, yard sales sound great, but I suppose our equivalent is the car boot sale.

If you have a BM, mine came with a cup measure all marked off down the side for half, quarter cup etc

Great - I do have a BM and an 8 Fl oz cup with it - I always use the metric, had never noticed the other side!
