I've been searching for a cheap roller blind for ages and finally got one in the Hombase sale, which is great!
However, its not a 'thermal' type and i'd like it to be transformed into one!
Has anyone got any ideas on how to make the fabric more substantial and insulating??..i was wondering if there was anything that i could spray onto the fabric that would leave a sort of 'woolly' type texture.
Or maybe i could stitch something, but i'm not sure how the roller mechanism would take to the extra bulk.
any ideas very much appreciated..
thanks

You won't get full insulation unless a tight fit all round.
I use 2" polystyrene board, fancied up, doesn't look that bad.0 -
i wouldn't have a clue how to do this. but i recently bought a thermal blind from argos ( cost about a tenner ) and it is really thick but not too sure what it is made from. but i can tell u , it has been amazing. not only does it keep the light out so mu kiddies sleep longer in the morning. but it has drastically changed the temp in the room. in the summer it kept the heat out and now it is chilly in the mornings i have noticed how their room is so much warmer. it has been the best tenner i have spent in ages.
a bit off topic but i hope this helps u.0
