My Least Favourite Job

Options
I have moved house recently and the toilet was a little bit stained so I tried one of the tips I was given and poured coke down it. Result - One very stained toilet. I Tried vinegar next and it didn't help.

What else can I do?

Please can someone help me. Thanks

  • I've been told that putting some denture tablets down the loo overnight is supposed to help. Haven't tried that one myself though!
  • for me the only thing that worked was Harpic 100% limescale remover. It took a few nights and about 3 bottles, but now I have a loo like new.
  • Yep I too swear by Harpic limescale remover. It's the only stuff I use in my loo. Bleach just covers the limescale!
  • TESCO TOILET LIMESCALE REMOVER - works every time. I know its a chemical but it saves loads of time and energy so well worth the 79p. There have been lots of other threads about this(I don't know how to add the links - sorry) - you could try pumice stone etc but I like the Tesco stuff. Clear out all water from bowl, squirt in loads and leave overnight. EASY.

i tried the pumich stone, ok it needs a bit of elbow grease but worked a treat. but once u have the loo clean i found it important to use a limescale cleaner a couple times a week to prevent it getting bad again.

Morrison's works really well too, and it's 10p cheaper!

Yep, pumice for me too - took me about half an hour once I'd got the water out using a sponge. Very satisfying to do actually, and you'll have a lovely clean loo for pennies.
