Arrrrgh! Florentine biscuits!
Does anyone have an idiot proof recipe for florentines? I've messed up three batches so far and I'm determined to get it right before bed time! The ones I have seem to be too runny so that instead of getting a nice thick chewy bit, I get a really thin run out crispy toffee that cannot be peeled off the greaseproof paper.…

Fresh coriander
I bought some fresh coriander and basil from Asda about 3 days ago, still in the pots. The instructions say to water them every day on the roots, not the leaves, and to keep it in a warm place near sunlight. While the basil is fine, the coriander wilted straight away, and has not come back to life  The coriander…

How does this recipe idea sound?
It's mince tonight and I thought about doing pasties - I found some puff pastry lurking in the freezer. Then I wondered about doing keema/indian pasties and thought about adding curry powder , coriander and some chick peas to the mix? Sounds good in theory, anyone think this won't work??

Best kind of pastry to make?
I have some leftover Greek lamb mince flavoured with lemon and coriander, and I want to bulk it up with mashed potato and turn it into a pie tonight. What would be the best kind of pastry to make? Basic shortcrust? Flaky? Never made filo and it sounds a bit too fiddly in this weather.

Immersion heater V central heating
In this hot weather having the central heating boiler on just to heat the water (and heat the airing cupboard) seems madness - now I have turned off the boiler and switch on the immersion heater for an hour or two in the morning for showers etc. Is this the most OS option?

Help - Making a home made insect/bug outfit. UPDATE. Photo of my 3 year old as spider
Dear all, inspiration needed. I have looked on Google with no joy. Don't want to buy if I can help it. Anyone got any ideas of easy costumes to make. I was thinking of maybe a spider, bumble bee or ladybird. I hate it when the Nursey does these things as I am always left in a panic. Not helped by the fact I have 3 boys…
