Silly question maybe, but why are you buying ready made mash when it is so easy and so much cheaper to make your own?

Also the butter, why are you buying two types? I love butter on my toast and have never found any real difference in the taste between any of them.

If you must have coke, then the Co-op have them on BOGOF at the moment.

The value orange juice tastes the same as all the rest too.
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

id scrap the coke, choccy bars and pizzas

you can make your own pizzas cheaper and healthier than most shop bought

instead of coke have juice or squash and make your own " treats" eg flapjacks / brownies etc instead of snickers etc

what are your 6 "main" meals? as you seem to have an awful lot of meat there ?!!

to try and cut costs maybe have a veggie meal once or twice in the week??
we are a family of 4,kids are 10 & 4 and i spend approx £55 every 10 days or so with tesco online

    Hello darling

Could you post up your menu plan for the week so that we can see whats going where ( and what youve got in your cupbaords to make the meals up if you are using )

I agree there does seem to be quite a bit of meat in there, and you can cut costs a bit further by having a veggie meal if you fancied.

mash i have been banned from cooking mash about 6 years ago from my oh he told me never to cook it again
my oh would never eat a veggie meal
coke i hold my hand up to this one i dont like tea juices lemonade cherryade ect it my only drink apart from water and there is only so much of that i can drink aday
butter i thought this would be better to use the cheeper butter in cakes than using up my achor butter as the cheep butter is to hard to spread and i end up making holes in the bread thanks

    my suggestions:
( and i do understand that what i am suggesting is all ideal and not necessarily possible for you right now )

chicken nibbles - dont buy at all - you can get a whole chicken for £2.50 !
crispy potoes - just buy a bag of potatoes and roast yourself
bread *4 - can you bake your own?
mustard - buy powdered and mix your own - much cheaper
mash ready made - theres that bag of potatoes again
burger rolls - personally id just use a couple of slices of bread but i understand its different with kids
colesaw - this is the ideal time of year to make up your own - healthier too
mars 6 pack snickers6 pack - as stated above try a healthier snack or make your own brownies/flap jacks etc
biscutes*2 - get value ones or lidls - nice and cheaper than branded
handwash - unless this is very cheap ( dunno as i never buy it ) id say get a bar of soap
coke 6 pack *7 - is this 7 six packs of cans? if so go to bottled liters - cheaper
pizza small*2 - these are really easy to make yourself and with a much greater variety of toppings
baby wipes - i have seen ladies here comment that they never used anything other than wet cotton wool on their babes and they never suffered- worth a thought?

sorry but if my oh told me i was banned from making mash again then he'd never get it to eat again.

have you tried making it the delia way and instead of using a masher use a hand whisk?

Ive always made lumpy mash, no matter what sort of masher i used (metal or plastic, various shapes and sizes) and it didnt matter how long i boiled it, or how small i had cut the potatoes either, it always came out lumpy!!!!
That was until i discovered a potato ricer!! I bought mine from Debenhams for about £15 (i know its expensive, but will save you money in the long run as you are buying ready made) and it makes perfect mash every time!!! i always add butter and pepper, but what extras you add is up to your families individual taste.

pizza i buy to small one about 30p each could i realy make this cheeper wouldnt it cost more to buy the stuff to make them
baby wipes never thought of that will try
mash i didnt blame him it was vile but i have a hand wisk and della cook book so i will try a test over the weekend and if it turns out ok then thats fine if not its back to the ready made lol

mustard powder - put a teaspoonful of powder in an egg cup - add equal amount of cold water and mix briskly to a paste

i leave mine to sit for about 30 mins before using it as the flavour seems to mature

itll last a day but to be honest i usually just wash the egg cup out and make fresh as i need it
