Immersion heater V central heating

In this hot weather having the central heating boiler on just to heat the water (and heat the airing cupboard) seems madness - now I have turned off the boiler and switch on the immersion heater for an hour or two in the morning for showers etc. Is this the most OS option?

I would of thought it was more expensive to use the immersion heater, but dont quote me on this."Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."0

How old is your boiler, and is your central heating gas or electric? It's not easy having a good time. Even smiling makes my face ache.0 -

Got a 16 year old Boilermate which runs on gas. It's an older version of this

The only disadvantage is that the unit itself isn't lagged (no point as far as hot water goes) so the airing cupboard and hall get very hot and the pipes under the floor are warm to the feet, not too good in this hot weather but brilliant in winter!0
