This cropped up on the green & ethical moneysaving board, as an alternative to giftwrapping:http://eartheasy.com/gift_wrapping.htmHTHNich x

We've made them before using a cereal box (or other suitable size).

Put wrapping paper round box as if you are going to wrap the whole thing.
Sellotape up the middle 'seam'. (Do a sellotape loop (or use double sided) if you want it to look neater).
'Wrap' one end, which will end up as the base.
    Take cardboard box out.
'Flatten' the base end as normal gift bags.
Fold in top edge, and punch holes for ribbon with hole punch (both sides at the same time so they are level).
    Use ribbon for handles.

I hope this makes sense - it's difficult to describe without diagrams! Let me know if it needs further explanation!
