I use Blackbird Leather Care. No idea where you get it (we get it locally) and it's a little pot of waxy stuff that you dab on and rub in with a little sponge.

I must admit I do treat my bike leathers carefully and don't mind paying for a non-home-made cleaning solution (not very old style I know). If I look after them, they'll look after me if I ever need them (touch wood!)

For getting flies of helmets, wet a bit of kitchen paper and place it over the areas on the helmets. Leave for a while and stuff will just rub off.

And getting flies of leathers is a horrible job, make your H do it!:rotfl:

DH and I do a lot of mororbike rallies and the weather is not always kind, so my leathers often end up a bit! muddy. I tend to let them dry off, then brush away as much dried mud as I can. I then use a damp sponge to remove the rest - this can take a few goes but gets there in the end. Every now and again we re-condition the leather with a stuff called Carrs Leather Oil - it's made for "saddelery, harnesses, walking and climbing boots" but works well on motorbike leathers. (Though our leathers are plain black, not sure how it would work if you are into coloured leathers). You can buy this stuff in old fashioned cobblers or horsey type shops. As for flys on visors my DH swears by Mr Sheen and as I don't like using spray polishes this is the only thing we buy it for!
