Boiler Service Cost
How much do people pay to get a yearly boiler service done by a Corgi Registered plumber? Does £103 sound reasonable? Never had to get one done before, so don't want to get ripped off!

Hi, I have a 2 year old Valliant eco tech pro 28 combi boiler. Most of the time it is only programmed to come on between 6pm and 10pm. However, some days, today being one of them, the boiler clicks on and heats some of the radiators, esp the one upstairs?? This happens on and off all day! The timer is programmed…

Gas vs Electric vs Oil query!
Our Gas boiler is on its last legs and we are now seriously considering our options for a replacement. Can anyone advise me on which route to take please? I've been thinking about oil but have been told its very expensive, gas is outrageously expensive as its is and it seems electric heating might be my other option. Our…

Electric vs gas heating - huge difference?
We are renting and looking to move to somewhere a bit bigger. We have always had GCH up till now but the house we like the look of has only got electric heating - I think in the form of storage heaters. I'm not sure what difference this is likely to make to our fuel bills, is it a lot more expensive? Thanks in advance.

Running costs of storage heaters - help please!
I’d be grateful for some advice about the running costs of storage heaters. I’m in the process of having two Dimplex Duoheat storage heaters installed in my property. Am I right in thinking that as each storage heater has an ‘input acceptance’ charge of approx 14kw, each heater will use a maximum of 14kw of electricity…

Heating oil fumes
Our house has oil fired central heating and has been regularly serviced. We have lived here since spring this year and before that always had gas. We have often noticed a smell of oil in the kichen when the boiler is on, sometimes it is stronger than others. I have no idea if this is normal or whether it is a serious…

Oil versus electric CH?
We are updating our newly purchased bungalow and want to change from night storage to central heating . We have no mains gas in our area, so are left with either oil or electric options (unless we want to install an underground LPG tank, which I understand can be done but sounds horrifically expensive!). Please can anyone…

Oil Fuel Tanks...Secure?
Forgive me if this is a stupid question but never having had to deal with Oil Fuel before I have no idea about this. We are due to move into a property that uses Oil Fuel in a few weeks time, I have been phoning around this morning to get quotes so I can assure we have some in time for Christmas. One company advised me to…

Boiler recommendations
Hi all, I've had a search through these posts but I can't find one dedicated to boilers, so I need to ask everyone's opinions. We're going to replace our old boiler system with a new combi boiler. We've been told vaillant are good, but I'd really like to get the opinions of people who use them and those who service them…

Wood burner advice
We're looking to buy a Dovre 500 CBW as we live in a smokefree zone. Does anyone here have any experience of them? I'm getting a little daunted by how much wood we will need to fuel it and a lot of people are recommending multi fuel instead of wood burners. Any advice is much appreciated.
