Plusnet price increase
My current 2 year Unlimited Fibre contract costs £26.54 a month. When it ends in January 2025 it goes up to £51.54 a month! Has anyone queried this and is it a) true and b) general? If this is real and Plusnet-only, any suggestions on where else to go?

NOW price increase. Move to Full Fibre?
I renewed with NOW in January at £24/mth. I was verbally reassured that this price would not be subject to any price rise this year, I asked a couple of times to be sure. I didn't really check any of the paperwork, I'm not complaining, but looking back there's no mention of it being a fixed price. The latest letter says…

Landlord won’t allow wifi fibre cable installation
Hello! I have recently moved into a flat (it’s part of a very old building!) I checked before moving and was told wifi coverage was good. Off I went to sign up for EE full fibre with an installation date the day after I moved in. I’ve been told by Openreach they need to cut down some branches to access a pole on the…

Vodafone BB renewal.
A productive morning! Due for renewal of my Broadband Vodafone Superfast 2 contract in the next week or so. Voda texted and offered me renewal of £27 per month for 2 years, a whole 16p less than current cost. Using Moneysupermarket price comparison I found One stream Fibre 80 offering similar service at £20 per month which…

MOVING HOUSE NIGHTMARE WITH SKY
About to move to house and was advised that Sky online moving process was currently unreliable so best to call. I currently have broadband (sky Superfast), Sky Q (with multi room) and Sky Talk and am in that contract till December 2024. On speaking to first sky rep he immediately suggested that I would have to take out a…

Broadband Access - A Word Of Warning
In sites like Rightmove and MSE where it asks you to put in a postcode, and even Broadband Genie where you specify the address within the postcode, the results that come up from companies are NO guarantee that the company can provide the service. I have learned this the hard way. 11 months into a 18 month contract with…

NOW Broadband - price increased by £3 a month - haggling
Got an email saying that NOW Broadband is increasing by £3 a month. I phoned up the number with a view to finding out whether I was within the minimum contract period (I knew I was not) but before even asking got offered £1 off the increase! Not happy with that I said I could still get it cheaper with Vodaphone and cited…

Will an Upgrade from FTTC to FTTP Improve Congestion?
I have 14 months to run on my BT Fibre 1 FTTC contract. Been happy with the service for the last 3 years but in the last month or so I've noticed slowing and occasional dropouts late afternoons/ evenings. Nothing has changed with my setup so I am assuming there's contention on the service. I have FTTP available and BT…

V4 Telecom
Does anyone on this forum use V4 Telecom? My parents who are in their 80's were unwittingly signed up to V4 a couple of years ago when they were with Talk Talk and getting a bad service. The method of signing up was an unsolicited call which I was not happy about once I found out which was some time after my mum had signed…

Broadband Price Increase
I have received an email from sky saying they are increasing
my broadband prices in July and if I wish I can leave penalty free if
under contract. Can I just switch away and how soon can I do this? without incurring any penalty.

BT Digital Voice and line rental
My line rental contract expires soon. I have BT Digital Voice. Can I now simply abandon/cancel the line rental contract and continue to use the digital voice service using Broadband? Is there any obvious downside to this? Thanks in advance.

Impossible to keep old landline phone number - different exchange
I'm moving house just a few hundred yards away, and tried to contact a few broadband and phone providers to move from Fibre To The Cabinet, with broadband and a landline, to my new house which is Fibre To The Property. Apparently I can plug my phone into my router at the new house, and buy adapters for other phones dotted…

Why I decided not to move to Onestream
I looked at moving to Onestream, but decided not to, for a couple of reasons. I was one click from signing up, but: 1. Router cost. An extra £3 a month on top of the price advertised on the MSE comparison site. That eats up most of the apparent price advantage. That's all a bit underhand. I could buy the router Onestream…

No broadband for 11 weeks - and counting
Why are service providers forcing customers onto full fibre fibre bb when it's actually not available. See below....not even installed by BT Openreach! Now likely to be 90+days at £6.10/day (~£550) so clearly penalty is insufficient to get BT Openreach to act quickly. Moved to new home. Could not move migrate Vodafone…

BT/EE - Phone via Broadband box connection
I have just received a new broadband router that has the phone call option with home phone adapter. It is supposed to go live for the phone from this Thursday (could take 24 hours to kick in). I set the broadband up on the day the box arrived and it works fine, I wasn’t sure if I’d need to wait until Thursday for that to…

Shell Energy Broadband
My 91 year old mother has broadband provided by Shell Energy. She has been without any access to the internet for a month, and to her landline for much of that time. Broadband and landline access was fine for years before this. Four Openreach engineers have called and there has been much confusion over how to fix - it…

WiFi From Cabinet in Street
I have been having slow broadband issues with NowBroadband for years, hardly ever getting anywhere near the 36Mbs I should get. Having looked at switching, Onestream is the only one I found that has a guaranteed minimum of more than12Mbs. After doing a postcode check with them and not switching, they called me. They said…

Virgin attempting to charge me for a router that I do not have!
Due to their disgusting customer service I gave my cancellation in to them this morning, and they are telling me that I have two routers, when I only have one. I am very careful about the equipment I have and ensure that I always return it as I am aware that they charge otherwise. I have searched my property for it…

Advice for Best Full Fibre (FTTP) product overall on Openreach
Trying to advise a friend who has got Full Fibre availability from Openreach and whose O2 Mifi contract is ending. Maybe this will help someone else also. The options HAVE to be Openreach FTTP providers. A non full fibre option is not an option. There are no other FTTP wholesale suppliers or alternative networks in the…

Sky Broadband - delays with installation?
I ordered Sky fibre ultrafast broadband 500Mb/s and have a Sky installation date for 4th June. Openreach came around to do some work on the external connection outside my house however when I contacted Sky apparantly there is more work required which is due to take place on 3rd June which could delay my installation. Is…
