BT/EE - Phone via Broadband box connection

I have just received a new broadband router that has the phone call option with home phone adapter. It is supposed to go live for the phone from this Thursday (could take 24 hours to kick in). I set the broadband up on the day the box arrived and it works fine, I wasn’t sure if I’d need to wait until Thursday for that to work as well, but knew I could just plug the old box in if it didn’t. Can anyone tell me what else I might need to do on Thursday to get the phone to work, do I need a new phone, also it mentions plugging the router for the broadband into the main socket, usually in a hall, it does only have one outlet, so would need the splitter still, at present the phone and broadband is plugged into a socket in my front room, but I know there is not another socket alongside the plugged in one, after removing the baseplate, the hall one does have the extra socket alongside when plate is removed, but not accessible when plate is on. I had to do a test once, so know it is there.
At present when I use my landline the internet goes off while on the phone, I am hoping the connection via the new router will stop that happening.

You should not need a splitter, as the phone will operate via the connection to the router (using the adapter). Hard to know if your existing phone will work. All you can do is try it.

If your existing phone has a BT connector into the phone socket then this will work in the BT connector in the back of the new router.0

Friend has just moved to EE/BT 'digital voice' -Quote <<I've found a green hole on the back of the router to plug my phone in to. It had a sticker over it, but my friend Michael from BT/EE is advising me>>0

Install went smoothly, even my Epson printer logged itself on via WSP button. 2nd handset works, I now need someone to call me to see if my Alexa still disconnects when I get a landline call.
It does stay on, that is the main reason I was happy to swap my old box, it supposedly will save me money on my broadband, mobile and landline as well. So a win.Paddle No 21:wave:0
