How you know it was taken then?

Too many variables to this for my liking

They were a christmas present and I'd only got them on Thursay night, I had used them once and left them at the bottom of the stairs in their heat proof cover.

They were there while he was doing the work as i took a phone call and was talking by the stairs. The engineer left ten minutes after, he shut the living room door when he left which my OH said at the time leave the door. In the time it took my OH ro walk accross the room to open the door again we couldn't see the engineer when my OH opened the door he was out the front door already.

We wre going to a hotel that night for a christmas do so I started to pack my bag and realised the straightners were not there. Serched everywhere and then phoned Virgin to see if he'd picked them up by mistake.

before he left my Oh asked for the paper work and was told that virgin don't give out paper work which we have since been told is incorrect.

No one could have come in our house, we had no visitors and no one went out. We've turned the house upside down before reporting the theft.

Believe me we are not the sort to just accuse people. I have never had anything taken before. We've always had great service from Virgin before.
    Kind Regards
    Maz

    GHD Straightners

Not the most obvious things to take, but the police have said that they get a lot of stolen ones sold on so may be not that strange. Edited to say

Think my father paid just over £70 - £80 but have been told most GHD's are over £100 so maybe they did cost him more. I didn't even have time to register them on the GHD website.

The thing is I know I unlikely that it will be proved but does anyone have dealing of complaining to Virgin as even the police have asked for a complaints department and has drawn a blank.
    Kind Regards

An engineer came into her home, nobody else came in or out. Who else took it?

Yes, didn't see id but came in Virgin van and Virgin confirmed his visit to the police.

Look I know some members don't believe me but they really have been taken and we know it was him there is just no other person who could have taken them.

Yep, the Virgin engineer with the beautifully straight hair gets my vote.

Good luck OP, this is a horrible breach of trust and I hope you get an answer from Virgin.

 actually he's already lost his hair

I think I'm more angry with virgin now and how they deal with their customers as I'd already assumed nothing was going to happen to the engineer.

Police have been great i have to say. I assumed that they wouldn't do anything but they said a lot of crime is small thefts and the trouble is the cps don't prosocute so they know they can get away with it again.

I don't think anybody believes that you are making up the theft, but the fact is you have no proof that it was the engineer.

As others have said, now that the poice are involved, VM are unlikely to compensate you in any way. In hindsight, it may have been better just to have dealt with this through VM, they would have been much more likely to compensate 'as a gesture of goodwill'.
